Not necessarily. I don't think so anyway. But what did Solomon ask for? He asked for wisdom. So you should be seeking wisdom in all life's situations, including potential relationships. As we men say, "think with your big head, not your little head.". (So, whatever the female equivalent of that would be...)

I am not religious but if God created us and programmed us with this desire, then maybe we are supposed to go with it while simultaneously tempering it. I think we are programmed to desire certain things and there's a certain truth and benefit to it, but indulging too much in it without questioning it also tends to lead down a dark path. So I think it's worth questioning our desires and tempering them, but not resisting them completely. There's a certain truth to them like a voice telling us what we should seek, but also a tendency for them to misguide us if don't balance them out.
It is not necessarily the devil's voice if I put it in religious terms as I see it. For example, we might be inclined to love sugary foods, but there is a health benefit to having some sugar if they're coming from fibrous sources like fruits. The problem is that we tend to get greedy indulging in such a desire and might go far beyond the line of what's healthy. So I think balance is the key.
The way I see it outside a religious context is that, for example, I am attracted to women who look good to my eyes still. But our eyes can deceive us. I might confuse a girl who smiles a lot as a positive spirit and confuse her for a nervous wreck of a person who usually thinks very negatively smiles to avoid conflict. Our eyes can deceive us. But so can our ears trusting every single word a person says. So I see it as a puzzle to try to piece together a person. I use my eyes, ears, all my senses as clues to try to figure out who they are. Unfortunately, I cannot read their minds. And my eyes are no longer attracted to such popular bodies like those featured most in the media. I think mostly they're trying to assess how a person might be like.
I think as long as you are "yoked" to another Christian in marriage it's fair game. The Scripture says the woman must RESPECT her husband and the husband must LOVE his wife. I think this is a perfect dynamic for the key needs of each gender and the Scripture couldnt have said it any better. Christians like others married for a multitude or reasons from rank, prosperity, etc. But they still followed what it meant to be Christian and what a Christian marriage meant. So long as we follow these things I believe its SAFE.
Don't look to religion for dating approval. The rule of gods is, they dont interact in the world of humans and their small ideals. They only exist to maintain reality and the existance of the worlds. In terms of god worship religions and the ideals of creationism. God created humans with the ability to reproduce & think. If he created humans for that, why would he deny it?
The question and the proposed poll answers make it seem like "as long as you are married, the bible says you can date many people for free sex".
Please re-phrase the question and post again. Think about what you really want to ask, and how someone else might read it.
I think she was talking about people thinking of marriage only in sexual terms. But yeah, it could have been worded a lot better.
He gave you that desire didn't he? Of course he wants you to use it. It's like hunger, is hunger bad? No but you shouldn't eat the whole chocolate cake!
I think that God is not 'American'. So his views on dating differ a little from how 'you' experience it?
In doubt, we could ask Jesus'. He night say something like ' don't let your left hand know...' etc
God is amoral. Realize no man can be happy if they only live for the body and no man can truly be happy if they only live for the soul. No man can be happy if they only live for the intellect. God does not care what you choose from my current knowledge and understanding.
Were it not for the hard-wired urge to fuck, men and women would throw rocks at each other.
Figuratively and sometimes literally, Feminists throw rocks anyway.
If we are not attracted to someone physically (aka want to fuck them), we are not interested in being anywhere near them.
God or evolution or both made us sexual creatures. We are stuck with that. God understands this.
What’s your religion?
Some people are addicted to sex to the point of buying sex. You don’t think that’s the devil playing a role? Because once God came back into my life, my guilty conscience became more sensitive, my head more clearer, and my desire for certain sexual things come to a healthy haute
Halt
It’s not. You don’t understand. I have will power because I put God first. I watched porn every once in a while and given the people I surrounded myself with, it felt easier to go down a very dark path. We have to be careful what we feed our mind whether that’s music, tv, movies, porn.. the devil walks on this earth and wants us to give in.
Sex addiction is real, the world has normalized being sexual with eachother with no strings attached. Who is honestly happy deep down when you live in this hookup culture.
God stopped certain thoughts I had. I feel more pure and I see straight!
“God or evolution or both made us sexual creatures. We are stuck with that. God understands this”
God understands that we want sex, that we have sex… ok. But with whom? Anybody? Does everyone know the difference between love and infatuation?
People waste their time having sex with people they only see short term in their life and wonder where time went. They spend too much time fooling around and that also limits your chances on someone who doesn’t want a partner that’s been around the block
Like me… I’m tormented because I thought I found the love of my life but I found out who he’s done and he slept with a girl I know that I’m not necessarily fond of to not only feed his sexual desires but to let me me know he’s moved on and make me jealous. I’m my the type of girl who gets jealous like that. I saw him in a different light after that and it made it easier to forget him but he’s stuck in my mind and I can’t stop thinking about him. If we’re soulmates, he def has some repenting to do because I don’t even want to stand by him nor touch me
Life would be easier and simple if people didn’t just sleep around like that. I wouldn’t have given him such a hard time.
@On_cloud_wine I agree with everything you said here.
Depends how you define "dating" as different cultures view it differently.
Simple
God is the creator and he knows what you do not know and what you will never know.
Same like the creator of this website knows everything about it, then you do not know even have any clue.
Add Good Judgement and Compatibility into the mix, and I don't think that God would disapprove of your date (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).
Don't pre-suppose something, especially since there are 1000s of gods that all say different things. And many religions claim to have unequivocally proven their beliefs.
1st question is which god,
2nd How to prove the other gods are wrong.
Then you can look to god.
Evidently God loves sex. Why else would we be so horny? There's no mammal that copulates more than we do.
No. If he were he wouldn't make us so drawn to physical beauty.
Quite the opposite. God supports physical desire and copulation based on a committed relationship between a man and a woman.
