100s of innocent people die daily. Have you heard of "The Holocaust". Around 60 Million, including lacks of little babies were killed !! Where the hell was Jesus, Allah, lord Krishna and such guys?

Yes actually, I DO believe it a god, or a creator, a power higher than myself! But I also believe that this “GOD” chose to create everything through the “big-bang” (and no I don’t mean Hugh Hefner’s 50th birthday party in 1976)! I believe that god chose to form his creation through the process of evolution as the fossil record shows,,, clearly! Yes bad things happen, they even happen to good people! I was raped on my 13th birthday by my uncle! You asked someone below (or above now) to list ONE time when praying helped them… they didn’t, but I will! After I was raped, a just wanted to die, but I prayed to god, I prayed for strength, and that he be punished and that I STOP getting punished for something that was absolutely NOT my fault, well he wasn’t punished, he escaped prison by killing himself! However the peace and serenity I received from prayer, especially before he died, truly DID help me, it gave me the strength to get up every day and go to court, to carry on living. To graduate high school with honors, and go to college where i could study psychology m and help young girls and women just like me who were the survivors of rape and incest! Prayer gave me strength, direction, and purpose! Now clearly you don’t believe and frankly, I don’t care… I’m Jewish not evangelical! But nothing you can say will make me feel less than, or small or even stupid for believing! And hey… . God bless you dude!

So, first of all did they help me trough an impossible situation before? Yes, but from what i observed they manipulate chance to change the odds. Its still up to you to actually do it.

They will not and probably can not override free will, so they can't prevent mass tragedy's if the people let it happen. Neither can they prevent all the bad things in the world. They can help heal, and like i said they can warn or change the odds but they can't outright prevent anything that easily.

I was born and raised Christian, and as I’ve gotten older I’ve developed my own interpretation of the Bible and what we’re told by the church is God’s word. I struggle with what you mention in your question. The holocaust, natural disasters, a pandemic, murder in city streets, etc…how can a just god allow this to happen to people he claims to love?

I don’t know…like I said I struggle with it. But what I also believe is that I can’t see how our world happened by chance. That somehow, through absolute chaos, lifeless matter collided to create a living cell, and through continuous chaos over billions of years sooooomehow we ended up thriving on the planet we do.

I don't know. To each their own. I consider myself a follower of Christ, even though I question him sometimes. I’d like to think that if I believe to the best of my ability and try to do good things in this lifetime, I’ll end up somewhere better when I bite the dust.

Yes I believe. I've seen the power of prayer. Yes there is suffering, but is because of our choices to ignore God. Suffering unfortunately will continue because we have the freedom of choice. God is not a dictator, and God is not a genie who only exists to say yes to your wishes. And Jesus did die on the cross to save you only in body but in soul.

I'm not here to make you believe. But you should let people who do believe live their lives. Our faith doesn't hurt you. Therefore you should live your life.

However those who want to forcibly convert people to their faith are equally wrong as those who want to convert people to no faith.

So please live your life and don't hate us for living ours.

I'm so sorry to hear that. That's another thing we get wrong. We need to pray, but be ready to accepting things that may happen.

My family has been through a lot the last few years. Mother going through cancer, but fortunately beating it. father suffering two heart attacks and two strokes in the last year. But we have also been blessed because he is doing very well.

So I'm not sure what reason I can give you to pray, because I am coming from my experience. The reason for you to pray will be a very personal reason when you find it. However you won't find that reason if you stop looking.
