Incomplete question. Besides the existence of many variations of beliefs in god, believing in either doesn't accomplish anything. Belief is not the same as the act of love, or the thirst for spiritual knowledge. ᅠ
Adjudication score: 5/10.
I do not, because I've never seen any evidence of the existence of a god.
Everything that people claim "proves" god's existence can be scientifically explained as a different phenomemon.
I view religion/faith as a holdover from a primitive time in which humans did not have the scientific knowledge to explain natural events.
Religion would/should have faded into obscurity with the increase of scientific knowledge, except some people saw it's potential as a means to enrich themselves, and control the masses, and took advantage of that.
I think there are many definitions of God. For me, there is too much order in the universe for it to have been a random thing. And that order implies consciousness. So, whatever conscious essence created it all…that is God. But just like the painting can never truly know its artist, the creation can never really know its creator.
As if paintings have a brain that failed.
I do because it's the only things that saved me from committing suicide at 12 years old

God is known to be a creation of man, not the reverse. Humans made up things to explain phenomena they did not understand but observed and needed a hook to pin those explanations to. SO Gods were created as the reason behind things happening. That it became a way to control people as societies grew and power was concentrated meant that it was a handy tool to get folk doing the same things together and FOR a purpose (war, colonisation, farming, discover, etc.).
Religion formed as a way for that power to be held in the hands of a few to maintain power through ignorance of the masses.
Sure it's a nice thought to have some benevolent (?) all knowing (?) controlling (?) entity guiding (?) our free will (is it really when it's shaped by all sorts of influences?) around that has a place to go where we end up after we kick the bucket that promises all sorts of great things as a reward for following "the word". Well few have ever come back from there with evidence of it so it MUST be great and therefore why are we all afraid to go there?
I do believe in God and here's why: There's loads of evidence everywhere!
For example, there is evidence that there has been a flood on Mars. I know it doesn't make any sense, but please trust me.
In the Bible, there's the story of Noah. In that story, it is said that there was a world-wide flood. So, if a flood could happen on Mars, where there is no water...
How could it not happen here on Earth?
There's also the dinosaur fossils. Most Atheists believe that a huge Meteor wiped out all the dinosaurs. (I'm saying 'most' because I don't want to assume anything)
But if that's true, then where is the Meteor now? And where did it land? Why is there no massive crater in the ground if a massive meteor hit the earth?
As for the flood, the flood is a perfect reason why the dinosaurs don't exist! When flood waters were rising, there would have to be huge waves due to air pressure, so the water would have moved massive amounts of dirt and sand. That sand and dirt would have buried the dinosaurs alive. The dead bodies of the Dinosaurs would decompose, and with the right conditions, there you have it! A fossil!
(Edit: I actually found someone who made a fossil at home with their oven. The person said you only need heat and a few other things to make a fossil.)
Yes I do. I was born a Muslim, yet did get agnostic so went searching and Allah (God) guided me to some talkers/preachers/sheikhs who help explain/present the idea clearly.
I now firmly believe in Allah as the only God worthy of worship.
Also, by reading the Quran (Holy Book) and seeing Islam teachings and Prophet narrations 'Hadith Shareef' certainly makes it clear nothing ever is as comprehensive yet balanced as Islam is.
And it does require sincerity to seek to really get there.
In short: 'be true in seeking, Allah is true in providing". Lots of saying, but one is
In Arabic: "إن صَدَقتَ اللهَ صَدَقَك".
Also the last verse of Chapter 'Ankabut' from Quran.
Part of it, is seeking/asking Allah granting you good understanding of Islam. Lots of Muslims are lost these days, it (guidance, deeper and clearer understanding) certainly is given to those who seek it by either actions (searching / saying 'athkar' or prayers 'Duaa'.)
But if i found a rabbi he might have good arguments same as a sheikh... need to compare several.
I mean the teacher of each religion will say "mine is right the others are wrong" so need to compare. Like i did.
Sure, compare as you like. It is your choice.
But you only asked one... any of them will say "only mine is good".
Yes because i have had something happen to me where i had an out of body experience. I always thought it might have been a hallucination, but it was very real, very scary, and the details were exact it could have not been possible in real life. I Truly believe there is something out there way beyond our life.
I don't, because there is no evidence. No, old stories are not evidence of God anymore than the Harry Potter books are evidence of wizards. No, "everything had to come from something" is just an unproven assertion. "Science doesn't know everything" is true, but still not evidence for a god. For centuries the phenomena attribute to God has been decreasing rapidly.
I believe in religion. It brings solace. It also brings child sex abuse and suicide bombers. But on balance it brings solace.
Of course there is no god or gods, but if the belief on balance is beneficial to people, then go right ahead with it.
I’ve experienced God personally so I can’t deny him. I dont mean in Church, I mean from a daily thing. I talk to him everyday and I’ve experienced instant healing personally not in a church. Iv casted demons out of myself and vomited
As an nonbinary, Allahgender Muslimah transwomxn it depends what you mean "God". I absolutely abhor white supremacist patriarchal social constructs, including the Xtian "god".
You will love the hint, in Christian bible book, song solomon 5:10 that god is white.
Yea cause it makes more sense to me than everything came from nothing and that we evolved from monkeys but for some reason the monkeys didn't all evolve and stayed as monkeys 💀
Don't forget about space itself, it existed before big bang! So there never was nothingness! No, universe is inside a black hole! No no, the monkeys evolved from a common ancestor with us who wasn't a monkey!
---------------
Faggotry aside, let's assume that we did evolve from humkeys (whatever the fuck was in between) one branch "evolved" into mankind and the other devolved into beasts.
As other opinions here say "religion is just old stories!" - it implies that humanity believed in (and experienced) the spiritual throughout evolution.
Which suggests that religion, which drove us, made humans smarter, while monkeys who aren't religious, started from the same place and ended up as violent dumb beasts.
Therefore using their own logic, religion = good. But this is just rhetorical mental masturbation, i take another and racially superior religious stance like a white person.
yes, the natural world is just too amazing to have been crated by chance.
nope, never was indoctrinated into it and it's just like a feeling you know? i don't really know what to believe and i don't really care
The evidence proves the existence of the creator, this is one of the main reasons. I disregarded the materialistic world view, this is not how success should work and evidence is not based on an exclusive materialistic world view.
Zero proof for but a shitload of circumstantial evidence against.
Then whence cometh evil? HUMANS!
Not a believer. Zero proof and the whole story has more holes than a screen door. It’s for weaklings and children.
Not exactly. I reject almost all the gods except the "father" and his holy son jesus.
Why, because due to prophecy.
he has shown me his existence, I've asked for ferry specific things and it's been shown. I will spread his word not because of non believing beings but because he has asked me to and has shown me his true loyalty and love.
I have never seen any kind of conclusive proof of the existence of any kind of an all powerful Being.
Pretty lazy. Just do a search...

I was thrown out of Sunday school when I was 7 for challenging then too much. Lived in the mid east for 6 years working for a defense contractor and saw how messed up these people were.
Yes, because he calms my anxiety and saved my life a few times
And he’s the best artist
Yes, but I don't believe god is an individual. I just consider god the point of origin.
But WHY did some originator make a world, just for nothing?
Yes. When I look at my child sleeping and my husband when he holds me at night. These things are the grace of God.
No cause of war, disease, corruption, them moving Priest around after they were caught with alter boys. And another where a high church offical was falsely accused of things cause they weren’t getting the money.
All those are CAUSED by sin. Blame the sinners.
It takes too much blind faith to be an atheist.
Yes I'm monotheistic and believe in oneness of God almighty. He is pure from all needs. He is unique, self sufficient, and without equal. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.
He "begets not"? Your god can't create anything?
@strateguy632. He is Unborn and Uncreated, has no parents, wife or offspring
Not in any God of any the existing religions. There is a possibility that we are in a simulation which would make whomever controls that simulation a god from our perspective.
Has kept me around this long : *god could've striked me down, yet doesn't* lol lightning ⚡😄
Yes, but so does Satan. It'd be more accurate to say I have faith that Jesus died for my sins so that I can have eternal life.
Why? Because I accept God's unending love.
I don't believe in God. Honestly, it seems kinda silly to me. But I can sort of understand why some people would want to believe in God.
Yes, because the Church teaches it through the scriptures. There is also the ontological argument which asks, essentially, what made the universe of not a first cause (i. e., God).
I’m 50/50 I mean with hate goes on the world and some pray to destroy one another. Or how I’m gonna go “hell” for being gay.
yes only reason I stay away from suicide while in high depression.
and to me only logical reason for universe creation
I haven’t seen anything that truly convinced me there is a God
I usually leave the subject alone but everyone can do what they want
Science>>>> God between science and God only one exists
Science NEVER refuted god, just ignored god. You think no Christian was ever a scientist?
@strateguy632 barely christian if you're into the field of science there's no room for God in there
I do because of faith
Of course.
How is everything here?
There's no proof it exists.
No cause god doesn't evidently exist.
Yeah, because I'm convinced he truly exist.
Because he believes in me.
Yes I believe in God because he’s God
Yes. Ex nihilo nihil fit.
Yes because of my faith
Yes because I was told to
Yes and because it's my faith
Which one?
Nope, common sense
I'm an atheist
Nope
