Religion or love?

I believe in God, but not truly religion. And i love a person who is different religion believer than me. To be with this person i must convert to their religion to get married and i don't want to. I don't want to change my beliefs and lifestyle to completely different to please their wants and the pressure and force they make me feel makes me upset... But i don't want to lose them either cause i truly love them..

If the person you love, truly loves you back they wouldn’t want you to change yourself to fit into their mould. I’m not religious, but my family comes from a religious background.

Are they forcing you to convert to theirs or is it the custom of their religion?

If I were asked by my future partner to convert to their religion to get married to them, I would conclude that they do not love me back, or cares more about their religion than me.

If they’re pressurizing/forcing you to convert, then you should have a talk with them and let them know that you’re uncomfortable with it. If they do not listen and continues to be adamant, you should do whatever you feel is the best for you. You’re emotionally connected with them, it might be a tad hard for you to make a decision, I understand. But trust your instincts.

Religious belief isn't a choice.
You're either convinced that their religion is true or you're not. Just switching to a religion because it's a prerequisite for a relationship with someone, isn't /genuinely/ joining the religion, you're just paying lip service to it for ulterior motives. Which, neither you nor your partner really wants.

Your love for God should be the basis for your decision. The best thing to do here Is study the religion he belongs to and compare if it lives up to the true standards it is supposed to have. Once you have confirmed that his religion is correct or not, then you can decide if first you love God enough to change to the correct way of religion. Or if you prove to yourself his religion is not correct, then it's best to let him go. Instead of asking people on gag you should take this decision on your own. What I will suggest is if you truly love this person and are thinking of converting don't do it without learning about the other religion first. Sometimes we hear false things about stuff from people who don't even have knowledge about it at all. Maybe u might start liking his religion or maybe it'll clear ur mind that it can't be done u can't change that much. End of the day you should do what brings you peace of mind.

You can never truly convert from one religion to another, unless it it done naturally. You can say you have changed your beliefs, but your true thoughts and beliefs will still be in your mind. They will not change.
