Is it bad to write about the devil in my fictional book if I am a Christian?

Just mentioning him for a little part in the book and it's linked to why all the bad shit has been happening. But I feel weird using the devil when I am really religious. I feel like I should never use that name. I don't know why I feel that way.

God knows you and your intention are good. God knows you better than anyone in the world. Before you were born and made in your mother's womb. He made you. In the Bible, it says the devil works for God and God put others through trials. (I hope this is not confusing.) I think it's okay because you explain why something happened; cause and effect. Just stay true to your intentions and have faith in yourself as he does in you.

I’m not expert but if Bible references, in some form, Hell 30ish times…then I guess Devil 👿 is good too.- Especially since Jesus talks about hell a lot. And Devil shows up Genesis 3:15(protoevangelium ) and never goes away until Second Coming.

I, personally, would not embellish or glorify descriptively outside of Biblically defined-roaring lion etc…scriptural definitions.

Although it's rarely called out and named explicitly, empathy is a core part of Christianity: if you're going to love and care for others out of genuine feeling rather than just by rote, empathy is a required thing. Why should that empathy not extend to the Devil?

I don’t think so, depending on your religion. When I was of faith, I didn’t think it was bad to mention the devil, unless it was some satanic ritual, worship, or summoning. If you’re just writing about him/her/it then I don’t see the issue with that.
