Would creating a story based on a mythology that religious people see as demonic bring many attacks or would they understand that it is just a story?

For example, African, indigenous mythologies, etc., are seen as demonic by many Christians (I'm not generalizing Christians) so would it be problematic to create a story based on African mythology or any other mythology that is less common to appear in films, series, animations, etc? What are the chances they'll come up with some conspiracy theory or call it woke?

It might be seen as a mockery of African traditions unless you can do it in such a way that it corresponds with their cultural values. I know while trying to write a book on the bible, I had a lot of opposition by bible readers who disagreed with my point of view. I am currently working on a non bible referencing series of books.

You’re going to have a mix. Take Harry Potter for example. Plenty of religious people have read the books and are in favor of them due to the morals and themes presented; light vs. dark, good vs. evil, friendship, bravery, self-sacrifice, etc. Plenty of religious people read the books and are not in favor of them because of the association with witchcraft and the occult, something they don’t agree with or feel is wrong.
Neither side are right or wrong in their opinions, and I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If you have a story to tell, don’t be afraid to share it with the world :)

Which I don’t think it’s bad to write your story but just keep in mind not to encourage people to seek what to them is the unknown

The point is that I want to create my story for those who like it. The problem is that Christians (not generalizing) tend to think they are the center of the world and try to boycott anything they consider wrong instead of just not consuming it.

Your biggest problem is Africans might take offence at you labelling their stories as mere myths. Even if they accept they're myths people can be funny about traditional stories being reworked.
