Most of the Gods we have are in human forms. Does this mean, their original forms are human or because we are humans, we see them that way?

That's a great question, and it has a lot of potential answers.

Personally, I think I'd have to lean towards being human in origin. Pets we own seem to treat us as some sort of God, not other pets. Overall, I think it has more to do with the highest good and greatest power we can comprehend, which isn't simply ourselves - it's an extension of humanity.

One of my friends belongs to a Church where they believe that each of us is a child of God in the sense that if we grow and develop ourselves, we'll become like Him. I think that's a rather sweet sentiment.

You're confused.

Gods are not "created" as then whatever created it becomes the "god". Also, humans understand by association, hence why everything we ever made has a human element to it.

Hence of course ancient humans were going to give "human traits" to their beliefs. But it's why the Abrahamic faiths were so revolutionary in not following on from that ancient trend.

We deceive ourselves into idolatry when we represent God as a physical form.
