Why can we eat but not have intimate/sexual relationships in Heaven?

I am getting annoyed with the same "but our understanding will be different" cliche, does anyone sympathize and empathize with me? Most Christians say that there will definitively be no intimate/sexual relationships between two people like there are on earth, but apparently there will still be eating up there.

We very well might- the simple truth is that we don't know. All Jesus said was that people don't MARRY the way they do here (not even. that they don't marry at all), and that in a context that was mostly exasperation. We'll know when the time comes; there's not much point in worrying before then.

I figure if it really gets that bad, I'll just sneak off to the Muslim section for a while; it's party city over there!

Who said there is no sex in heaven? That's speculation. The thing is no thing could tell you is that there might be no need for sex in heaven because pleasure has its own sources up there. I would rather say there will be no procreation in heaven but now one can until now say that there will be no sex.

Without sex would it in fact BE heaven? Somehow, I don't think so. As for eating, I can't recall any Christian ever saying that we'll still have food in heaven.

The whole purpose for sexual relationships is to reproduce the human population. You don't need to reproduce the population once your in heaven.

It has other purposes you know. Like bringing pleasure and reducing stress, and it's good exercise, and people who indulge in it live longer.

A Heaven where everything was reduced to need would sound boring.

We won't live in heaven but on a restored earth.

The eating it talks about in the Bible is a eating spiritual restoration not necessarily physical as we won't have a need to eat since we won't ever suffer the same physical needs we have currently to survive.

Jesus taught sex will be done away with and we will be like angles, we no longer will have sexual reproduction system so need for sex nor our new nature and bodies won't require such physical need.

But why this arbitrary rule? Why is it great that God would allow or give us the opportunity to do physical things and have these systems down here (which isn't necessarily sin and God in fact called it good when he originally created Adam and Eve), only to cut that off after the resurrection?

The majority of Christians do and it mostly comes from parables of Matthew 22:30 in the Bible when Jesus was rebuking the Sadducees with a question about whose husband a woman would be with after the resurrection.
