I find when I do not face the realities of life, it interferes with my worship and I can't feel God's presence properly. For example, with our financial situation, I can make many things like hard work or further education optional. They are not compulsory to my existence but I do not feel God when I try to live an artificial world of swimming pools and bars and movie theatres. The real world has gardens and exercise and suffering people and that is the only world where I can find God.
