I thought the word religion is often derived from latin origins that sound similar, religio and religare. One means to unite, and the other to tie and hold back. Many argue that religare is the correct stem. So using money we can cooperate the way wouldn't otherwise. And also you can get people to work for you if they need your money. Fining people for protesting was effective to hold them back, wasn't it? Trudeau?

I think it could be if you worship it. I know rich people who worship money and I know rich people who worship God. One girl I knew from school lived in a mansion her dad bought and spent her entire life doing humanitarian work to help poor people. She died of cancer on the day I finished my last exam in university for undergrad.
