For religion, to do as thou Wilt is the whole of the law.

For personal philosophy, the universe is not conspiring against you. It doesn't care about you, its not going to help you, nor hurt you. You are no more important to it, than a single quark 3 galaxies away is important to you.

In general, life is pain. You live in pain, you die in pain. What matters is how you handle it and why.
