Literally? No, but I'm an atheist, so that answer isn't surprising or interesting.
Figuratively? No. Sometimes it seems like we're designed to suffer, always finding reasons to be unhappy no matter how close to paradise we get, but it's also true that people can find joy in life even in the worst circumstances. It seems more like we're programmed to stay in the middle -- never satisfied enough to stop improving, but rarely low enough to give up entirely. We just struggle until we die. It's far from ideal, but it could also be worse.
Is it an interesting idea to think about? Yes I think so, anyway:
Imagine a person who spends their entire life waiting to be liberated from this unclean world and delivered it the arms if God, only to be greeted by a grinning demon who explains that they have been in hell this whole time, wasting their life waiting for something that will never come, and that the next step is for them to forget everything and be reborn so they can suffer all over again for the billionth time. In fact, I think that was pretty much the premise of the Black Mirror episode, "White Bear".

This is the most messed up the world has ever been.
No. You can't even compare real life to what the description of hell actually is. Hell is described to be severely torchorous in scripture
