If God is real, why doesn't He punish my great-uncle for being a bad person?

My great-uncle-in-law (the husband of my grandma's younger sister) was and still is a bad father to his two sons (now in their 30s). He didn't care for them, would go out drinking every night, and expected his wife (my great-aunt) to have food on the table when he gets home at 2 in the morning. Instead of working, he expected his wife's family to send him money while he drank or slept all day long. Now, he's 63, in good health, hasn't worked since he was 28, and his two sons (the ones he neglected) give him money to travel. A man who doesn't want to provide for his family and now he's lucky enough to do nothing but travel, have fun, and sleep. Doesn't have to pay bills, work, or anything.

Can't make sense of how that all turned out, a lot of times, those guys end up on the streets. Maybe he's military and gets a pension and the boys got discipline and thus obey him. He somehow controlled them all.

Either way... your view of God I find to be faulty... as if God is some thing that goes around dishing out punishment to keep people in line or whipping up storms.

God is love, which is energy, which to us is an emotion we relate to. You know it when you feel it. God dwells in people while they are living and it's a choice to equate and build that emotion. Love can guide a person, or other emotions can. What happens... happens in the course of life. Some are fortunate, and others not.

The Same Bible that says "God is Love" also says God Controls the WEather, including hurricanes and tornadoes. It waas God who wiped out Myanmar via Cyclone Nargis, and it waas God who sent Hurricane Katrina and killed all thos epeople in New Orleans.

You better learn some real doctrine, instead of just misquoting 'God is Love" to people.

We are all on God's Time and that does not always coincide with Human Time. There is consequence, in real time, and you simply are not aware of it. Man is not a robot and has the ability to choose or choose not the thing before him.-And God is not going to thwart human choice but is working around and through it.

Man chooses Evil. God is not Absent or incapable. God is Omnipresence, Omnipotent, and Omniscient. And as Creator, He is also Judge of created which is you and I. The created judging the Creator is nonsensical.

The longer a person's bad karma takes to manifest itself, the worse it'll be. Oftentimes people carry their bad karma on over into their next life.

Don't waste your time & emotions focusing on when other people will get their karma or justice. Just focus all you can on making sure you're happy & doing the best for yourself.

There's a lot of Psalms, as well as other parts of the Bible, that ask similar questions. Short answer is, we don't know, we mere humans are finite, whereas God is infinite and knows everything.
