When I was 10 years old, I ran into a 7' Black Rat snake in a field. It arched up like a cobra and charged at me. I was pretty quick with my hands from martial arts classes and I caught the snake right behind the head. It wrapped around me, but it was too late for the snake. I felt like Kwai Chang Caine that day. I was never afraid of snakes again.
I dreamt about it a few times.
