Is relgion differences a dealbreaker?

I'm sure it won't make any sense to you but I will still say it. What is "religion" supposed to even mean for those people? I know for sure: it isn't perusing the truth.

So are you breaking up simply because of some silly traditions like wearing a skirt vs wearing pants? Because the worshipping rituals of both are symbolic to the one and same esoteric religion.

If we really think, the most extreme religion and not a "related" one is not a deal breaker, as long as they have a brain. Having a brain they will see that religion = politics.

If he worships the church and exoteric traditions like people worship political parties, his problem. If he doesn't want to get smarter and solve the problem, forget him.

There has to be another word, let's just call it "truth seeking". So if you asked "is the difference in our backgrounds a dealbreaker if we are both spiritual truth seekers" the answer would be "no". But now if I define "religion" as a choice of one of the mainstream unquestionable dogmas that you're stuck with for life, then it's impossible to get along.

Not really, I guess it would depend on the person, their beliefs and if it was likely to be a problem if having and raising kids.

Strange that a Catholic dumped a fellow Christian due to religion, as Catholicism is Christian, its technically the primary or earliest existing branch of Christianity from which Orthodox Churches and much later the various Protestant Churches broke away.

For me, absolutely! My faith is important to me, so it’s important that the person I’m with also share that same faith. People who are not believers tend to have worldviews opposite my own, which can be a source of contention. Even Christians of certain denominations— there are some doctrines that I would not want to incorporate into my family.
