Barely anyone seems to agree what "god" even means so I can't answer that.

Morality is not a social construct, and there are dark religions, dark adepts, dark occultists who work against the good and moral.

Of course there are millions of dumb shit philosophies which people use to comfort themselves. But all you have to do to find the real truth and not some planted disinformation garbage is look at what they themselves are into. The highest level occultists such as the 33rd degrees. Study their books, not all of them were working for the dark side, that's for sure. Karma is surely real and I face a lot of gurus who say it's not. You're confused as it was solved way back, and it was only a dilemma in pagan and Christian theology - not Jewish or Islamic theology.

This is mainly due to Christian and pagan views on the Divine working "directly" on people's lives. Therefore "good" was something the Divine made them do, or it was only "good" because the divine said it was.

Jewish and Islamic theology do not hold to the same ideology. What is "good" for one person, can be bad for another, and "just" doing something good, without the right intentions does not make it good. Hence why the atheist can never be "good," as he can parrot, but never actually do good.
