Um, God didn't stop Union Carbide from killing tens of thousands in Bhopal, or the Cauyahoga from catching fire, or Chernobyl reactor from melting down. Nor were any of those things foretold in the Bible. Nor was Elvis, airplanes, or the funky chicken. It doesn't matter if GOD refuses to destroy the world in a particular way if we do it first, and I see no reason God would step in to fix our mess just because it's a mess; it's not like our problems haven't gone uncorrected before.

I would VERY much like to hear how the Earth is going to be inhabitable without the sun, though. Likewise how the Earth isn't going to be destroyed when the sun becomes a red giant; being smacked with a stellar ocean of multi-million-degree plasma is going to burn this little world to a cinder.

Could God stop that? Well, sure- but what makes you think He will? If I hold a flashlight above my head and release it, it's entirely within God's power to keep it from falling- but I won't expect that it won't, just because the Bible doesn't say anything about it. The Bible doesn't say anything about turning on your computer, or ethically navigating a globalist economy, or predicting tomorrow's weather, either- but you'd be foolish to assume those things don't matter simply because they're not mentioned in one book.

Also, if we ARE affecting the global climate (or if it's changing on its own), then that will very much affect the number of people who are starving, and not in a good way (in the short term, at least); tens if not hundreds of millions of people will suffer lifelong consequences or die outright if things get too screwed up. Jesus didn't say "whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me- unless it was my will that they starve; then fuck you". He didn't say word ONE about there being a proviso for meekly tolerating spiritual evil just because it came from God.

But what concerns me most is the idea that "You should do what you can to make it come soon"- that may be the single most unChristian thing I've ever heard. It's a tacit admission that you have no faith in the value of creation, or in the value of the message of Jesus on THIS side of death. This life isn't some kind of punishment, or test to see if we're worthy of Heaven- it's valuable for its own sake, and turning up your nose at it because you've been told there's something better afterwards is the very height of ingratitude.

The bible verses you quote have fuck all to do with climate change. They talk about the alleged "end times". Times, which, even by the verses themselves, will come "as a thief in the night" - meaning there will be no indication.

Why the fuck do Christian nutjobs like you fail to read the bible properly and cherry pick? Even the bible despairs about you "... seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand." (Matthew 13:13)

Climate change or at least that's the prevailing theory, global warming was the theory from the 70s. I think the climate is always changing but since the start of the industrial revolution we been pumping carbon monoxide, co2 and other stuff into the atmosphere an ocean and then we've changed natural habitats to suit ourselves all of which has knock on and long term consequences. So we've sped up climate change so we could see global warming and rising sea levels or another mini ice age. Ultimately its very hard to predict but something is certainly changing.
