Let it make sense
.
As the following graph shows. Except during the Ice Ages, during the last 600 million years, and a few times during the last several thousand years, average global temperatures have been considerable have been considerably higher than now. Therefore, the global warming fantasies are false.

Regardless, global temperatures are always fluctuating.
600 million years ago there were no humans. We are mainly concerned about global warming not because of itself as an event, but because what impact on us, humans it might have. I am not a believer in global warming just because in the last 100 years collected data is not enough to make a finite conclusion on that.
@artgorgeous Regardless, who scientists describe as humans have been on earth for 3 million years and that is approximately when our current Ice Age started. At approximately, the same time, our current Ice Age started. About every 100,000 years, there is an intergalactic warm period, usually lasting 10,000 years and the current intergalactic warm period started 12,000 years ago and may end at any time. However, the last four, lasted approximately 20,000 years and no one knows why. Certainly, not due to human activity since there were less than 100,000 humans. Even if you want to claim there may have been one million humans, we now have 8,000 times that many, they had no technology, and even farming wasn't invented until about 16,000 years ago, after which the human population started to increase.
Furthermore, CO2 is a trace gas that has no measurable effect on temperature. 450 million years ago, CO2 levels were 12 times higher and the temperature was the same as now, although usually, both temperature and C02 levels were higher. We know CO2 levels drop during the Ice Age and increase during Intergalactic warm periods when the Ocean warms.
You see, that's why I'm saying. Current statistics they usually use takes data for the last 100+ years. In the timeframe of 10000 and more years it's nothing. That's why current 100+ years data (considered most precise) isn't enough to make any substantial judgement.
@artgorgeous Very true.
Why would you even try to compare nowadays climate with the climate 600 million years ago? There weren`t even plants at that time on land. If you make that kind of silly comparison to say climate change isn`t real, then why not just go billions of years back when earth was still a glowing red ball of molten rock and be like "Look, it was hotter back then as it is nowadays". Ridiculous and stupid comparison.
@CurrentJohn What is ridiculous is your comparison of temperatures prior to oxygen-producing organisms to a time almost two billion years after Great Oxidation Event—when appreciable levels of oxygen became a permanent feature in our atmosphere. Furthermore, you ignored the fact that global temperatures are always fluctuating and have been for billions of years.
It is baffling how people like you can exist that can come up with so much bullshit to try disregarding something so obvious. You are literally at the same level of intelligence as the people who think the earth is flath and reptilian people are among us. With people like that climate change isn`t even a sad thing because mankind is screwed anyway.
exactly as sheldon the genius, said "something that has always been changing is not real change" in series big bang.
Not everything is about your American politics, Jimmy.

The scientist is pushing HIS agenda about being against "Big Joe."
Global warming has been predicted for decades, but the chickens have come home to roost. In the U. S. alone, this passing summer has been the hottest on record. Wildfires are burning everywhere in Canada, the far West and even the Deep South where summers are usually wet and humid. In New Orleans, we are experiencing a moderate drought! It's unprecedented.
This comes from burning fossil fuels. I saw the recent special on Big Oil, a two-part series on Frontline. One of the most depressing I've seen.
It features former workers in Big Oil who've since left the business, who KNEW of the coverups about global warming. A PR guy reports that Big Oil continuously lied and cast doubt on global warming, not recently, but for decades since the late '70s and '80s, when doing something about this would've resulted in a cooler planet by this time. And it was known, even in the 1960s.
But Big Oil wanted to keep making Big Money. During the pandemic, oil companies made more money than they'd ever made in history. Now, they're investing in green infrastructure because they know their days are waning. And the fact is, oil has to run out because it is a limited resource. We need renewable energy.
This is not a political issue. It's a fact because the resources we've used have been building up in our air and seas, and polluting them. The producers of these resources knew this, but fought tooth and nail to suppress or negate such information due to greed.
It's all about the Benjamins and always has been. No matter who gets hurt, even if it's the PLANET, money tops all. If you have enough of it, you're insulated. But see the 2009 film "Daybreakers," to see how untrue THAT is! Great sci-fi/horror! But prescient and pertinent to where we are now.
And we are the vampires of this planet. Short of self-annihilation, we have to work hard to find a cure.
predictions? but the predictions in 1980 were dire and 40 years later the change is much smaller. see my recent mytake here, they were wrong that humans would accelerate and the "concerned scientists" let emotions tilt them lost credibility among intellectual people.
@strateguy632 The actualities ARE dire. This year has been the hottest on record since records have been kept for 200 years. And for 179 years we've been burning fossil fuels. It's taken that long for all this to happen. The 1980 predictions were the red flags waving. If we had DONE what we needed to do then, we wouldn't be cooking now. It is a row of dominoes. Fires are burning all over America in places where it has never happened to this extent. Canada is still smoking. Our oceans are overheated. This is killing off reefs all over the world that feed the fish we eat and catch. Our oceans are polluted with plastic bags and plastic waste that we've generated from oil usage. Nearly no plastics are recyclable, yet we produce more and more 1-use containers daily because someone gets rich off this and we're too lazy to complain.
Our electric grid is overtaxed from dealing with these issues. And also overly old. And the developing world wants air conditioning and polluting cars and plastics too. We are a tiny fraction of people on this planet. If we are the example for everyone else.. we are in bad shape.
Global warming will also mean we can't plant and harvest crops that we eat. This has already happened here in Louisiana. The crawfish crop for next year has been affected by the heat, as has regular crops.
In central America there has been drought that has affected planting and ruined people's ability to make a living. This is why so many are crossing the border. They can't feed their families. It's not about being in fear of their lives from some drug lord. They cannot support themselves with subsistence farming because of climate change.
Anyone unaware of these facts is no intellectual. They're bone ignorant. I'm about to take an environmental course that covers some of these topics. Maybe I'll do a My Take in December when I know some more. But, frankly, I'm scared. I have a young son who I want to have a good life. And I'd like to go out happy myself, not worried.
It’s true and it’s happening BUT here a few points:
I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I hate to say that I think nuclear might be our only way to bring third world nations into to liveable standards of living: i. e. making them first world. But the waste and danger issues, RE Nakashima, are off-putting. Where does the waste go.
I know you've seen "Oppenheimer" by now. Once you unleash that genie, there's no bottle to contain it. What bottle can contain these wastes? Will we simply be killing ourselves more slowly? egads...
Wind power and solar panels are short term solutions that only work in certain areas and don't produce the big bang that metropolises need. Plus the only way solar is a long-term solution is if households can cut off the grid and use battery stored power during night hours. That costs another $20K on top of the $30k to panelize your home. And both, as you impart, are made with poisonous, dangerous chemicals that are problematic to dispose of.
The feds have to provide the infrastructure for E-car recharging, which doesn't exist, also it needs to TAX E-cars in the same way it taxes gas cars for road use and maintenance. That doesn't exist yet.
To get all the gas cars off the roads in say, 10 years, there would have to be incentives paid to everyone who can't afford to buy one. Looking at 15 "cheap" E-car models which ranged from 28K to 50K, I found the average price to be 37K. That's not including tax and licensing.
I just finished paying off my 2006 Honda Civic, which cost me $2800 dollars and 18 months of payments. So, I wouldn't be able to get another car.
This could be great, though, if the feds started subsidizing public transportation again, and we became a nation of fewer, and therefore, far less polluting cars. But there's the problem of the car manufacturers losing buyers and therefore jobs and all that fallout!
There is no easy way out of this. Biting the bullet, not Steve McQueen's "Bullitt," (ah those engine grinding chase scenes in the Mustang fastback!!!) will be a matter of course.
We all have to live through some tough changes and WANT those changes not just to save money, but for our children and their children to have better lives. It's called generativity.
@Screenwriter there are just too many radicals on both sides who screwing everything up. The Greta Thunbergs and Leonardo DiCaprios out there push other in the opposite direction. They get further entrenched in their denial about climate change.
One thing is for sure. You can NOT destroy our economy by cutting off oil production. Biden’s completely asinine and onerous regulations on domestic oil production has directly contributed fuel/energy prices and that translates to increased inflation on EVERYthing. Some democrats naively believe that this is an effective “method” to force Americans to use other alternatives. Ah no. Thats ridiculous.
Personally I wish the government was better at giving Americans bigger tax write offs for personally using more efficient vehicles and homes. I know I need knew exterior windows in my condo. But I also don’t have $12k to fork out to get them replaced. But if they were replaced it would make my home more energy efficient. I only get a TINY tax write off for that. It should be a huge credit.
I also agree that if we could get more electric cars in mass production and at cheaper costs that would help Americans adjust. But another serious issue is lithium mining and what that does to the environment. They are working on sodium rechargeable batteries but they have a ways to go. This ties into everything I said earlier about the first focus being R&D. It needs to be scalable and it needs to work for mass production.
by the way I ride my bike as much as possible for short terms. Good exercise. Good for my mental health. But I save on gas when I can. But I also live in a state that has cold and harsh winters. It’s only seasonal.
I also don’t understand why nuclear power plants were being built right next to the coast in Japan (which puts them at risk of being hit by a tsnunami. Chernobyl was 2 MILES away from a major city. Did nobody think of the worst case scenario?
Why can’t we build more nuclear power plants in remote areas like the Mojave Desert? Make sure they aren’t built above a water table either. Build it with the expectation of the worst case scenario in mind and what you will do if that happened.
It's too hot here to ride bikes during the day. I do live very close to a major grocery chain and walgreens and whole foods also. I can walk and pull a compact cart to all of them, but again, the day heat is around 100 here in New Orleans. Can't do it. I spin and am rehabbing from a shoulder injury. Very early in the morning I can take a bike ride in my nearby park. You're right about mental health. Why I've returned to spin class also. When shoulder's better I'll do my at home Body Pump. But that's a month off.
The car batteries also have a disposal problem, and though I'd love a solar roof as there are no trees anywhere near my roof, I too cannot afford the $40K it'd take to add panels, a grid disconnect and battery storage. The tax credits currently are near nothing. And the payback time would likely outlive me. I've insultated my walls and ceilings through several programs very inexpensively. I've upgraded by AC/heating system.. it was 20 years old. Far more efficient. I have old windows, but I have curtains and interior blinds and even some exterior wooden blinds. Am about to replace my water heater. As a liberal demo I am doing all I can to conserve. I run my AC at 79/80 when here, when gone, I turn it up to 83-5.
But don't mass produce the cars until there's an infrastructure to support them. Both have to be done simultaneously. Some oil production scaling back to promote alternatives and to force use of alternatives makes sense. No one's going to invest in clean energy if oil isn't scaled down Jobs in new energy and R&D in it and waste disposal for nuclear and fusion... there are many possibilities to scale up that oil being processed as usual stymies..
Sucking on the teat of oil is something no one wants to give up. Natural gas, still a pollutant but less so than oil, is powering a small proportion of fleet vehicles. There could be gas-powered power plants that would be somewhat better than oil powered and far cleaner than coal powered. Some of this applies to second and third world countries to become first world and do better for their people.
I simply see it was a human problem that the world has to solve. And that is the giant fly in the ointment. We're all going to hang separately if we don't all hang together, to paraphrase Ben Franklin.
@Screenwriter sounds like you definitely have put some deep thoughts it this. I respect that.
The human problem is it hurts to THINK. People rather blast sound bites. On one end got Trump saying “climate change scientists are frozen in ice” and on the other end you got Biden saying “oh just go buy an electric car!” (but it’s “okay” if I own a corvette). Not to mention the idiot activists. But again it hurts to THINK for most people. So they have to elect a candidate who doesn’t have to make them THINK.
Anyway I think most moderate conservatives and moderate liberals aren’t unreasonable. But everything is getting more and more polarized.
Your point on Biden is stupid. Everything else is fine. The pandemic is why inflation reached record highs. I don’t care if it was engineered or came from some fucking bat, what matters is China’s dumbass communist party leader doing dumbass communist things didn’t let their own people do their own jobs and follow containment protocol. That’s why it spread all over the world.
Trump spent a fuck ton of money to give people stimulus’s. The lockdown further exacerbated it. The whole time the frds are printing money to both pay for the subsidies and get people to get back to work. So when the lockdown ended, you demand pull inflation, supply push inflation, and M2 money supply inflation. They all drive the cost of everything up from a record high level of inflation, the last time inflation was this high was during the world wars. Then the feds over corrected and deflated the M2 money supply, something that they also haven’t done in a century.
Don’t just blame Biden. The guy is a racist and sexist idiot. But it doesn’t matter who won this last election, the CoVid crisis was going to screw whoever got into office. Democrats would have done the same thing Trump did.
@love_conquers_lust inflation started going up the moment Biden got in office. Yes the covid relief bills contributed to inflation. But the government (local state governments not federal) forced lockdowns on businesses. They had to give people something.
So what did Biden do when he took office? Spent more f*cking money on the biggest oxymoron bill in US history (the inflation “reduction” act). He crushed domestic oil production which skyrocketed energy costs which means higher costs for everything.
No politician could have prevented the Covid pandemic. But government has to pay you when they ram a ford F150 through your living room (force shut down your business). But everything Biden did afterwards was asinine. He could have just GOT OF THE WAY when he got elected. The economy would have restarted with businesses reopening. But noooo.
Anyway I doubt anything I said above about politics will change your mind. Nor do I think everything would have been fine and dandy if Trump got re-elected. But still Obama once famously quoted “never underestimate Joe Biden’s ability to f*ck things up.” And boy was he right. Biden’s fiscal policy has been horrible for the country.
I don’t give a shit about whiny business owners exploiting PPP loans either. They made a huge mistake when they denied students their loan relief. Now they have a whole segment of the educated populace pissed off at them for their hypocrisy. Obama was a race baiting fucking idiot. The only sensible thing he did was green light operation Neptune, which wasn’t his brainchild to begin with.
Biden’s fiscal policy is exactly what’s needed to fix this country if you want it Democratic run. Right now, Republicans want civil war. They have to fix what’s going on at corporations and end Affirmative Action. It’s the only way to secure the voting blocks they need as far as I can tell.
Fiscal conservatives are morons, and an insult to social conservatives.
@love_conquers_lust alright I agree with some of the things you said above and very much disagree with others.
But do you want Trump to win the primaries? I know I don’t. No and hell no. I want Biden OUT and straight to the nursing home where he belongs. Let him be president of the AARP.
But if so many blind and stupid loyal republicans keep backing Trump in the primaries it’s almost a guarantee that a literal turnip painted blue will win the Oval Office come 2024.
I’m a conservative libertarian. Which means I do not CARE about what you do in your personal life as long as you don’t intrude on mine. But the modern left has been anything about non intrusive. From forced DEI training in corporations, to cancel culture, to censorship,, too forced vaccinations (I’m not an anti vaxxer but I will never forget about that bs), too insane unnecessary asinine spending which leads to more inflation, stymied busines growth and crushing taxes the modem socialist left wants total CONTROL. Both fiscally and socially. Biden is just a senile empty shell who caves to virtue signaling from the radical left. He’s no moderate.
But I can’t make up excuses for idiots on the right who are pushing through a candidate (Trump) who has lost the republicans 3 major elections in a row now (2018, 2020 and 2022). We both can hate Trump for different reasons.
The temperature only suddenly heats up drastically enough for wildfires to break out everywhere that the WEF and UN want more landgrabbing to occur when the US Air Force gets co-opted for firing DEW lasers from drones, or engaging in strategic cloud seeding.
When they say your way of life is heating up the planet, what they mean is they won't stop heating it up until you agree to surrender all your property to their envious black hearts.
They're not scientific experts. They're Marxist terrorists. This is simply what they do.
Likewise , major plague outbreaks seem to only occur whenever there's an election to steal. And the "remedy" sold to the public is always the same lockdown tyranny and witchcraft in a syringe that has already failed us countless times already.
They're not doctors. They're Marxist terrorists. They are to be as little trusted with your health as the Devil himself.
And the timing of everything they do, even distracting from Epsteingate revelations and Hunter Biden plea deal implosions with nonsense about UFOs, always coincides with their need to use stage magic to ensure the next election goes their way.
To let them get away with anything, is basically to anoint Joe Hunt of the Billionaire Boys Club from the 80s as king of the world. And that would be just plain asinine.
Regardless of your political affiliations Earth is 4,500,000,000 years old.
We have only been keeping track of the weather for only 140 or so years.
So that is 4,499,999,860 years that Earth has experienced weather events.
Also, take into account all the geological events that are invisible to us; the orbit of the Earth around the sun which fluctuates in distance over a year’s time; the effects of our moon which is moving away from the earth at about 1.5 inches a year. The moon is responsible for our sea tides so it would stand to reason that can effect the oceans in certain ways; the shifting of the Earth on our axis, which by the way, is why we have spring, summer, fall and winter.
Take in to account the effects of any solar events involving the sun, the effects deforestation of the rainforest, the current geological events that we are able to see and those that have been ongoing for decades.
As for an increase in Tornadic activity how many tornados are radar indicated vs visually on the ground. Doppler radar has only been increasing in usage since the late 1980’s for detecting rotation within supercells. So before then all of these radar indicated tornadoes weren’t being recorded only those that could be seen visually or determined after the fact.
Sure, humans have increasingly been putting more CO2 into the atmosphere but Earth is very good at recovering for such things. Look at the land around Chernobyl. Life is thriving.
There are just too many unknown variables that have been happening over the course of 4.5 billion years. For humans to even think that in the short amount of time we have existed and even the much shorter amount of time since the Industrial Revolution; that our little blip on earth’s radar even matters when it comes to our weather.
Seems a bit narcissistic don’t you think?
My opinion about climate change is it’s a giant hoax, kind of like smoke and mirrors, they always push that just like the transgender stuff. All this is to push the opinions away from what they’re really focusing on, and that is changing the United States into a Marxist socialist nation there is no climate change no more than it’s just a natural evolutionary Happening ! What’s really bothersome to me about the media pushing this climate change is they don’t have any iron clad proof, it’s all basically here say, nobody’s really proven it! If you really wanna know what’s polluting the world, take a look at the flight plans of all the planes that fly around the world daily and then you’ll talk about fuel being consumed you’ll be shocked to see how many planes are in the air all day that could be climate change! And it’s not the United States we have to worry about it’s the other countries like China, India Pakistan, Iran those countries are the ones that pollute they don’t care, so what’s the deal about being so critical about changing things from fossil fuels to electric when the rest of the world doesn’t care, we all have to work together until that happens nothings going to change
Honestly, I think it is true, but at the same time I think it was going to happen naturally anyways. I love scientific articles and learning as much as I can about meteorology and geography, and from what I have read, whether it’s true or not, the earth goes through cooling and heating cycles (as seen during the ice age). Many believe that we are now entering a heat cycle, which we can’t do anything about. However, I’ve also read that our GHG emissions have accelerated the process. Now whether you want to believe that that is true or hogwash, that’s up to you (and everyone else).
It’s evident here in Canada that global warming is happening as we’re experiencing extreme droughts, forest fires, and our winter climate has ‘improved’ significantly (not having long periods of -30C anymore (in certain regions)). But it is alarming and our landscape is changing because of the accelerated change.
This is also evident in the Arctic housing community as the frost depth is increasing each year exponentially, and the piles that stabilize the buildings that are driven into the permafrost are no longer secure, causing the houses to sink/shift.
and in Alberta, we do still have chinooks which provide summer/spring like weather during our cold winters, but I’ve found over the past 10 years that the average overall temperature has increased.
and that warming is true locally but not global if even one place is less warm than average not "global " warming.
Yes global warming is true. There are two things to consider. One is that the Earth's climate changes naturally due to cycles in its orbit. Go to Google scholar (to avoid all the misinformation on regular Google) and look up Milankovitch cycles. That will tell you a lot but the jist is there are 3 things which naturally occur on a fairly reliable time frame ranging from 20 something to 100 and something thousand years and these produce the natural cooling and warming cycles for Earth.
The second thing is that the current rate of warming is unprecedented and all the reliable and verifiable evidence points to it being anthropogenic which means it is entirely caused by human activity namely the alarming rate we are releasing greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere resulting in radiative forcing.
The insurance companies knew about this in the 1970s, the oil companies in the 80s and the mainstream scientists picked up on it in the 90s. However, the concept was discovered and confirmed by a guy called Arrhenius at the end of the 19th century.
The good news is we believe it can be slowed and eventually reversed but we have to act right now.
The answer is yes global warming is real and it is not a "leftist" conspiracy theory or anything to do with Joe Biden and the Democrats trying to use it as a way to make money.
actualy the trend from 1940 to 1970 challenges that despite war industry and literal bomb fires and smoke etc. as singer pointed out. preserved at p. b. s. website until they hide his opinion.
@strateguy632 They call that the great cooling interval and it has been shown that it happen due to a variety of factors including an increase in CFCs which reflect more heat into space. However, even though CFC emission peaked in the 1980s, after 1970, average surface temperatures began to rise again because CO2 emissions tipped the balance and the longer term effect of CFC emission is still warming and not cooling.
So no, that temporary trend doesn't challenge it because we know exactly why it happened that way.
Look around- how many glaciers do you see? The ice age is over, and it obviously existed, so yes, obviously the climate can change.
The real question is whether the globe is getting warmer due to human action, and the answer is: probably, at least in part. Since we don't have another biosphere to experiment with, we're likely to never know for sure.
Now, certain political and economic groups are taking advantage of the uncertainty, and pushing some dubious (and some blatantly awful) solutions; that's beyond doubt, but it doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist.
that is so narcissistic when weather is much more complex and the uce age ending had already started the warming we can't know at what rate.
@strateguy632 Yes, we can. The geological effects of glaciation are well known, and core samples taken from ancient trees can tell us quite a bit about weather conditions thousands of years ago.
It's not narcissism, it's observed science.
I don't really care.
I'm not worried about it.
I know the governments of the world don't really care. Their ONLY solutions are all of these measures to control the population and dictate what we can and cannot do. More and more control and power to the state. Less and less freedom for you and me.
They say CO2 levels are going up. Too much CO2, making a greenhouse affect. Vehiche emissions are making CO2 go up, light bulbs, cow farts... everything.
They need to regulate this, that and the other.
Yet... yet, not one simple proposal that deals with absorbing the CO2. Plants take in CO2 and give off Oxygen. Why would the government's first action be to plant tons of trees and to promote people adding more plants and trees to the communities... the organism that naturally gets rid of CO2... no, that doesn't create a panic and allow them more power.
If you are worried about it plant a ton of trees and get others to do so.
Of course it’s true it’s not even a debate in the scientific community if it’s real. The only people who are debating if it’s real are the ones who don’t understand science who are debating about it that’s why 97% of climate scientists agree it’s happening and is a result of human activity.
I mean just read through this site and click on all the tabs it’s actually ridiculous the amount of evidence we have that it’s real and people are still denying it.
https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/?_gl=1*1glnops*_ga*azVuRmpmbGpfYUp5N2R1MWoxSEJvQTZBRjB4RkFqWkxFdDdMd1F0WWZvdi13cVgtSkVmX29IM1ZqSnU3WlI2TA..
I’d like to add if you ever went to a room of experts on climate science and meteorology or even other studies like geology and ecology and you said climate change isn’t really they’d all look at you like you are crazy bc to climate experts there is zero debate it’s basically accepted as fact
to opinion, content if, wrong actualy among engineers in post doc programs, they recognize two sides, not the news company and uneducated "science is settled ". you say "if" because you didn't go to see. it is a propaganda trick to not get caught lying.
In 2020, I remember I read about that famous mini-book which pretended to debunk that "97% of scientists think climate change is real and provoked by human beings".
In a page, a wealthy woman said "But about ISIS?"
Sweety, ISIS is not good, but climate change could lead to the death of billion people, or even the extinction of the human race.
Nobody think he knows better than a plumber or a carpenter, when it's not its job, but many people think they know better than climatologists, even it's not their job.
I saw how Jordan Peterson, a climate doubter, was figuratively crucified by climatologists because bragged about that, but he was ignorant.
I think it's the Dunning-Krugger effect, a cognitive bias:uncompetent people think they know the subject well, even if it's wrong.
but the claim "global" is harder to prove, because need evidence everywhere, to claim global, and easiest to refute if even one place is less warm, than its historical average then neither global nor co2 TRAPPING heat.
Think for yourself not by peer pressure using ridiculed and mocking.
It is quite clearly true, just look at all the record breaking temperatures we have had over the pat decade. Just this year the planets 3 hottest days on record, the hottest ocean temperature, and all the extreme heatwaves this year. The hottest month broken twice in a row after being broken several times over the last decade.
Or are you going to tell me that all the scientists of the world are in on it, bearing in mind that not every country gets along or even allows liberals.
caused by SUN DURING DAY if you claim greenhouse gas, then measure at night. or else fraud.
@strateguy632 LMFAO, who thick can you get, the sun has been there for over 4 billion years and global warming has only been a thing for the past 150 years, since we started factory farming, then the industrial revolution. Get a grip man.
You sound like the sort of unstable person that would believe the coronavirus was man made or was caused by 5G phone masts or that the vaccination was a chip being implanted into us.
just ignore the issue... guess about me like i am stupid, called ad hominem, but really measure at night to see if co2 traps heat... it doesn't trap and every night is consistently cooler than day also in some places cooler than historical average.
Let me guess - that scientist was a typical "expert" they often interview on TV. Same thing as with all those covid "experts" who changed their mind every day. TV is the least reliable source of information.
Climate change is real because the climate is always changing. We’re currently in a warming cycle which may or may not be accelerated by human activities. But the reality is the massive changes being pushed to “combat climate change” are money grabs by corrupt elites with superiority complexes.
Climate change is a better term since parts of the globe get warmer while others actually get colder. Climate change is real... the earth has been going through cycles of climate change for eons. What makes things different now is that we humans have contributed (not caused!) climate change, and its potential effects on human civilization are greater than they've ever been before.
The planet has been warming since the Last ice age peaked out. Man- caused global warming is an unproven hypothesis that has become a religious hysteria. Globalists have seized on it as an approach to separate and control people. Like climate change, COVID and "systemic racism" have been highjacked for the same reasons.
Yes. This is settled. The average global temperature during WW2 rose from all the fossil fuels that were burned. The temperature dropped as the carbon dioxide sequestered in the ocean, but it was still higher than pre-war levels.
There’s so many other scientific theories across multiple disciplines that support it. It’s not worth denying anymore. Almost geocentric bad.
you mean should have... but that was a cooling era as singer researched since 1940. also sea level fell before that in the preceding warm era. these were observed facts not predictions that concerned scientist are now predicted
@strateguy632 Don't tell me what I mean. It's a baseline shift that would apply regardless of where we are in solar cycles or Milankovitch cycles. Yes, we are in a cooling era in the MIlakovitch cycle. But that takes 45,000 years to complete a cycle. It's one contributing factor that's being overshadowed by anthropogenic burning of fossil fuels.
I see you hopping around this thread arguing with people like I do, the difference is I know what the fuck I'm talking about, you don't. I saw you cited engineers disagreeing with climatologist. I AM an engineer dipshit, and I'm telling you, you need watch this video, then come back and ask questions. You don't need an advanced degree to understand this. Climatologists were former meteorologists. The meteorologists who AREN'T climatologists who deny climate change, are frankly, not the brightest bulbs in the box amongst the meteorology community.

It's entirely possible the globe is warming. The Earth has had countless warming and cooling cycles.
However, the extent to which human activity is responsible for this warming, the cost/benefit of that warming to the environment overall, and the cost/benefit of doing a particular action are under (well should be under) constant debate.
I remember watching a video of the psychologist Jordan Peterson talking about climate change. And he said something like it's not about politicians loving the planet but politicians hating humanity. I totally agree with Jordan Peterson there.
the last cycles in 1900s were opposite of human effect, and sea levels dropped see my recent mytake.
Absolutely not!! It's ALL bullshit!! In fact, it;s BECAUSE of the C02 that the planet is getting greener!! Some places that have been deserts for eons are now starting to become rain forests!!
which... use co2 to build branches, and more green than before, even Sahara is shrinking along a wide strip.
Well the global climate has gotten progressively warmer over the last few decades and it can be demonstrated that greenhouse gasses retain heat. It’s easy to see why scientists put 2 and 2 together.
coincidence instead of MEASURING temperature at night. see for yourself.
@strateguy632 ….. and I’m going assume you’re just another bullshit artist with no credentials in climate science. I’ll stick with the climatologists here. Just like I’d stick with a lawyer for legal advice or a doctor for medical advice. You don’t follow fools.
Yes, the scientific consensus is that man made global warming is proved beyond a reasonable doubt. It is a huge problem and will continue to make life worse for every human on Earth.
Nope look at the ice cores going back 2 million years, every 20,000 years the climate changes and we're at the 20,000 year mark now, and a few years of warm weather is not climate.
global warming happens. that's a fact. whether humans have caused it and if yes how much of it is questionable.
just seen that documentary about climate change affecting the alps
There is confilicting evidence about whether or not it is real.
Very true. Can't you feel the climate changes compared to 10/20 years ago?
feeling hot isn't measure. 25 centigrade And 28 centigrade both feel hot. and humidity adds to the feeling despite not real heat.
According to scientists yes. Also according to other scientists no. So yes and no.
Why else did California have a hurricane and then 101 heat after a week after the hurricane
why else? because climate is VERY COMPLEX, ever heard of weather butterfly effect?
@strateguy632 still climate change
We are already dealing with the practical effects of global warming.
I think it’s true, because we don’t have the cold winters that we used to when I was a kid
Typical for right-wingers to turn everything political.
People are now dying because of extreme weather conditions. Companies no the truth but are willing to kill the planet for profit.
there is some debate whether there really is global warming or if these changes are just local
What have you seen in your life?
Yes, 100% of scientific studies confirm it
100% Wow. Impressive. Lol.
except p. b. s. quoting singer so not 100%. also my scientific study refured the global part of the claim.
It certainly feels true.
feeling isn't measuring see www.dailymail.co.uk/.../...ure-risen-15-years.html
@strateguy632 That's interesting, and I hope it's accurate. It doesn't mean we shouldn't curb our efforts to control greenhouse gases. When scientists can't expalin something it's best to assume the worst.
@starteguy632 Actually if you read on it says that temperatures are still rising, but more slowly than before. Also leaks aren't necessarily reliable. Let's wait for publication of the full report. Oh, and by the way the Daily Mail has a long history of printing wrong information.
@strateguy632 Oh, and I just noticed the report you referenced is 9 years old. Hardly the most recent science available.
I think it’s true
Noo!
yes it is
but a study in 2013 can " provide ammunition for deniers of man-made climate change." funny worsing l. o. l.
🤦...
I think so yes
I don’t think so 😑
Yes..
