Serious/Deep question: Do you believe that someone "up there" (the universe) is looking out for your or not?

Why or why not?

Yes, I believe someone up there is looking out for me. Multiple instances (near death experiences for example and other stuff) in my life that have proved it! Saved me from certain bad things happening! So far I believe!

Nah I don't believe that. Too many coicidences that are just that. Coincidences. Most things in my life can either be explained to be my fault or just random bad/good luck on the part of right choices/wise choices me or my loved ones have made for me, etc.

Up there? NO... Everywhere (omnipresent) YES...I believe spirit (GOD) is everywhere. I believe everything is made from God and is God. I believe all visible and invisible things were made by God and are God.

I believe the reason people don't believe in God is because most define God as the religious people do and I believe they are wrong.

Even this year I prayed to God (real prayer not words) and he sent me the solution to my biggest problem. The solution was so good it made my problem look like a tiny joke.
I'm still in shock. I talk to God all the time.

But here is the thing @tenderfantasy I don't believe God is "looking out" for us. I believe God operates or God's modus operandi is through natural Laws. I believe God is impersonal (everything). I believe due to this way of operating God is amoral. And if you look at our world God is clearly amoral. All the evidence points toward that. I believe the #1 law the Bible tried to each people through allegory is the law of sowing and reap or the law of cause and effect. The golden rule we all our taught as kids, "treat others how you want to be treated" is simply the use of the law of cause and effect. I won't get into the other laws because I think they are less accepted by people. But another one is the Law of Gender. Law of Polarity. Vacuum Law of prosperity. Everything in this world is orderly... That requires intelligence. We are more intelligent than ants and dogs. So if there is a God, God would have to be more intelligent than us.

We were made in God image and I believe that means literally. Everything is God but in a different form. Water and ice are the same thing. Anyway goodbye that's just want I believe in my life seems to agree and I think the Bible does too once we stop looking at the surface meaning and look at the deep hidden meaning. Like the Bible says a man is as he thinketh in his heart... The early greeks referred to the subconscious as the heart. Then if you understand how beliefs and subconscious programs get there you understand the Bible was correct. The whole law of vibration and attraction is based on this. But people focus on the effect part of the law, which is attraction. Probably why no one understands it. the Bible also says "the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works" Well when you watch a motivational video you are stimulating the subconscious or the nervous system etc and you suddenly have the will to do what you just recently couldn't. I could go on for hours from the stuff older millionaires tell me. I know nothing compared to them. But I understand it's hard to believe for others. I dont blame them. Not one bit. I have more respect for nonbelievers than for religious believers.

@Tomisworthless I wasn't talking about God. "Someone up there" could be anything, but as I was saying, what's the point of believing in a God that lets you suffer? ! But anyway, that is for a different discussion. However, if you understand what I mean, it's not about being lazy and not having to take responsibility for your life, but by what you're proclaiming, if there IS someone (anyone), up there that's guiding you, or controlling things for you (WHICH I don't believe by the way), then that just means that you DON'T have to do all the hard work, and that, regardless of WHAT you do, YOU WON'T have to reap the consequences of your actions, good or bad, because someone up there IS making sure you are falling on a soft bed at the end of it all! Do you get it now? ! I hope so.

@Tomisworthless I was raised Catholic and I even went to Bible Studies and got confirmed as a child so you're wrong with that.

I don't agree that life is ALWAYS about suffering, that's a negative mentality in my opinion.

I agree about the tests. Maybe someone up there is testing us.

That said, I don't know why there are so many different religions.

As an adult, I am STILL confused about religion and I am more or less agnostic (I believe and don't believe, but until there is solid proof, I will not be 100% towards a certain side).

If God loves his people, then why let them suffer? Why test them? I don't think people ASK to be tested!

Everything is a roll of the dice. There are no miracles. Rare things happen rarely. So when they happen, it isn't divine intervention, it's just odds playing out. "Near death" happens but so does "actual death." The difference is the actually dead aren't here to talk about being dead. :)
