How do you celebrate Easter? And if you don't how will you spend the day?

My family and I will be going to the early Mass tomorrow morning. Then we're going to my parents' house where we will make an Easter frittata. My parents and sisters are going to Mass later on in the morning, so we'll all have breakfast before they go. We may have some family friends show up, we might not. No one knows yet.

Later on, we'll probably pray the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and watch this film called The Robe. It's about the Roman soldier who won Jesus' garment in the dice toss at Calvary. It was made in the early 1950s, so you should be prepared for all the melodramatic acting and perfectly-timed lightning and thunder.

Being completely honest, I'm Christian and don't exactly observe Easter. Most I will do is watch The 10 Commandments on TV if I ever get a year where I've got the opportunity to, and not even sure if they air that annually on ABC anymore.

The origins of Easter aren't exactly biblical. The death and resurrection are, but the observance is sketchy, being largely rooted in paganism, especially with the Easter eggs. Wanna know where they came from? Well, the ancient pagans who worshipped the god Ishtar/Ostara/Eostere would sacrifice babies, and then dip eggs into the babies' blood and put the eggs into rabbit nests. That's why we have colored eggs and rabbits associated with the holiday.

We celebrate Easter - it's my holiday to host.

We colored eggs on Good Friday, now today I made some of the sides and a dessert for Easter dinner and spified up the house and filled plastic eggs to lighten the load on Sunday.

Sunday morning I'll run the Easter tableware through the dishwasher, chop veggies for the salads, set and decorate the table to look Eastery, put the ham/sides on a little later. Then after dinner scatter the plastic eggs so the kids can have an egg hunt.

I was raised during communism, it was illegal. Still no idea what it symbolises (other than end of winter, which is not in any way Christian).

Ugh, Easter? Seriously? I don't give a bunny's ass about that holiday. But if you really wanna know what I'll be doing, let me paint you a picture: I'll be getting my freak on like a wild gorilla in heat. I'll be humping everything in sight, from the couch cushions to the kitchen sink. Hell, I might even try to mate with a passing car if I'm feeling frisky enough. So if you're looking for me on Easter, just follow the sounds of primal grunting and bed springs squeaking, because I'll be busy celebrating in my own special way.

I am going to be busy making turkey dinner, then, my daughter and I are going to go for walk around the property to wear it off. I'm aiming to have the turkey dinner ready for around 2 PM, so we have lots of time to go for our hike. Likely call the parents/grandparents and have some FaceTime afterwards, and then some dessert.

I gave out some gifts to a few friends. Today is a friend's birthday and another friend's birthday is tomorrow. I'll be going there to celebrate both.

I don't celebrate Easter, but I have taken some extra time off to relax and some things that I've been putting off, like taxes.
