You're confused.

There is no "religious rule" what you mean is "guidance" and like any guidance, it's there for interpretation. But the consequences are fully on you.

You get hundreds of people every day hurt themselves on cars, appliances and tools. Mainly because they don't read the guidance, bother with the guidance, or they choose to ignore the guidance. These people come a cropper when they try to sue, and find they were in the wrong directly, or in the small print.
