Do you believe laws are correct or are rules meant to be broken?

In a free country laws are established because most citizens want to follow them.
What does it mean to want to follow the law? Most sane people (really) don’t want to:
The question is if you could do above crimes in a lawless society and get away with it, would you still do it? Most sane people don’t enjoy harming other people. They might fantasize about it but they won’t act on it
Sometimes attitudes change. For example most of the country doesn’t see marijuana possession like they did 50 years ago. I personally think MJ is far from harmless (especially for teenagers with developing brains) but I don’t equate MJ to fentanyl either.
But they’re also new “revolutionary” group of morons who want to call evil good and good evil. They believe the system is “evil” and violence is justified. They want to give people “passes” for breaking the law just as long they fall into intersectional groups of people (and their crimes don’t hurt them personally).
I'm an advocate of anarchy and dictatorship under the right circumstances
There will NEVER be a perfect utopia. Never. It’s impossible. And that’s what I hate about socialists or worse communists. They truly believe paradise can be accomplished on earth and it can’t. They are driven be a “feeling”. This has been tried before in historyand all that happened was the power was handed over to corrupt, hypocritical brutal sociopathic elitists to the great misery of the masses. People don’t think it’s possible for history to repeat itself and they are DEAD wrong. Very wrong. Innate human nature hasn’t “changed”.
Have you ever wondered whether maybe it was the people chosen to lead that have been wrong and not human nature? Only a select few people have been chosen to lead. But what if the person that leads is someone who genuinely holds the views that represent the majority of citizens and has a great moral compass where not many people would be against.
You're correct in saying there will never be a perfect utopia, and that is because humans will always disagree on philosophy and politics. However, there can be a person that represents the majority out there.
@HawkPerception the issue is power tends to corrupt. That’s not to say some people start of with good intentions but latter succeeded with the wrong people.
One thing I can’t stand is the bipartisanship of US politics which has lead horrible polarization (which is actually what our enemies want). I might of considered voting for RFK if he had a real chance at winning. But instead I’ve being forced to be vote for Trump and in the process have been berated, slandered and labeled for it despite never been a real “Trump supporter”. But when people (and this bs started with the left, it really did) go around hurling insults and labels at a group of people how do expect them to react?
Yeah, I get that. It's the same with lawyers and doctors or any profession on the planet. They start out with pure intentions and end up desensitized to people and the world and start to care mostly for the money and themselves.
But wouldn't you say there are incorruptible, pure hearted people in the world? Would you say every doctor or lawyer ends up being corrupted?
There are good people in the masses who only want the best for humanity and would never be corrupted by power. That's my belief and that's why I believe in dictatorship "under the right circumstances".
There are pure hearted doctors and even lawyers out there. But politics is a different story. You have to constantly make compromises to please the populace, Congress, senate and worst of all the media. The media can make or break you when you are a politician.
The most corrupt institution in American society is our mass media. And they have been corrupt and biased for decades. It’s disgusting because they have literally changed society, politicians and history itself based on their partisan objectives.
It was a good conversation man, but at your last point I think we'll just have to agree to disagree.
Cheers!
No worries bro. I enjoyed it too. Hope you have a good day!
Laws are not absolute, they are subject to change therefore they can't be correct.
Legal Age, Slavery, Sexuality, Genders, Women's Rights are all laws that changed recently from what most people in the past would call immoral now.
Imagine if we still allowed marriage of 13s, locked up gay people, and women couldn't vote upon elections.
Laws are meant to be questioned by what objectively bad outcomes they bring, and adapted when found to be creating such bad outcomes.
Though laws are not meant to be questioned by belief based outcomes that leads into laws that can't be measured and anyone can justify actions by just saying they believed it was right.
Well said 👏🏼
Rules are meant to be broken
In France we have hundred of laws that are not applied but still exist for some reasons so yea rules are not meant to be respected especially such silly rules as how in my school shorts and polo were forbidden but transparent blouse and tiny skirt were authorized now they made a new laws where long skirt / dress and kimono were forbidden.
Those outfits are forbidden in French school because of a weird laws, those outfit are now considered inappropriate :

So I don't believe such stupid laws should be followed. Any outfit considered as too modest are forbidden in French school.
Both of the links are broken. It might be because I'm in Ontario?
LOL those are the most conservative outfits I've seen 🤣
I think it's my computer that don't want to send links in America in general because I tried to send links to others people who live in the USA and it didn't work either, a lots of links I try to send don't work.
Yes, in French school they found a new funny things to do which is to forbidden young girl weaning modest clothes and the new laws is to ban four color pen :

they want to ban those pen cause they say student make noise with them when they get bored in class, they're clown
Laws are created for a reason, though several have been proven to be flexible for certain reasons as well. The important thing is to create laws that are valid -- and not simply designed to justify and elevate one category of human beings over another.

I think the language you chose for the question may cause some confusion.
The phrase "laws are correct" is confusing. Does it mean that they are written correctly in such a way that they are enforceable laws? Does it mean that you think the laws are logical or ethical or moral?
There are lots of laws that I do not think are logical, or ethical, or moral. But that does not mean I don't think they should be enforced. Everyone doesn't have to agree that a law is any or all of those things, but the essence of law and order is that people must follow the law whether they agree with the law or not.
Unless that is the case you have chaos.
If you do not agree with a law you are permitted to engage in civil protest. But by doing so you are subject to consequences weather you think it is fair or not. You may challenge the law in court, and if it is found to be unenforceable because it is unconstitutional or for some other reason, the law may be overturned.
Either way, laws are neither correct nor incorrect, they are the law. Following them is not optional, it's mandatory or you are subject to the consequences of not following it.
So I think you are questions are always good but I think this one is a little confusing.
In the wisdom of Andrew Tate, Laws weren't meant to be obeyed. It was created as an illusion of rules for the commoners.
If the matrix or the government doesn't like you, they'll find a way to screw you over irrespective of any laws and rules.
But why can't we just, say, kick those just stop oil protesters in their faces? Someone has money and pays the law enforcement to punish us if we kick them protesters in their faces.
Lol I'm liking your opinions more and more lately
@goaded Thanks

Depends on the law and if it aligns with my morals. If the law is against my morals I won't follow it. If the law exists but in my morals its fine it will be very much a case by case basis. And if the law exists and it aligns with my morals ill follow it by default.
I'd say that most laws in the US are correct, but there are definitely some exceptions, and bad laws far too often have to get to the Supreme Court before they are property dealt with. This is especially true when politicians are knowingly going against the constitution, passing unlawful bill after unlawful bill in an effort to stall for time.
If laws were meant to be followed the goverment making them would follow them. Instead of simply declaring whatever they want to do as legal or illegal on the basis of their leader's ideology.
There is a name for this behavior its called the rule of men, not law.
Laws retain the same meaning from the moment they are past until they are repealed.
So if the people who make the laws we are suppose to follow followed the Constitutional laws they are suppose to follow. There should be some resemblance between their limits today and the limits imposed upon the leaders who first were limited by them.
Many laws are actually unconstitutional.
Marijuana laws, for example, were based on racism and corporate greed.
Many laws, especially since the unconstitutional Citizens United, were/are actually not written by legislators, our elected officials, but rather they are written by corporate CEOs and their lawyers
Then congress signs these 500-page documents into law without reading a single paragraph
This is how congressmen make millions of dollars.
Examples of other unconstitutional laws are the Seatbelt Law and the Helmet Laws for motorcyclists.
Majority are correct. It's only a small amount that are wrong or wtv
Laws that don't directly prevent harm to others, are rules you can break. But, if you get caught, own it like an adult. You aren't royalty or a god. I've been caught breaking laws more times than I can remember. It's my fault, and I paid for it.
Most laws are correct but there are Just and Unjust laws where Civil Disobedience is needed.
I agree with MOST laws.
I believe that society should be accepting of public nudity, in proper settings and at appropriate times.
Such is not the case where I reside and never will be.
Rules are meant to be broken as long as you don;t get caught.
They are correct for the weak and bent for the powerful.
I believe that there are a lot rules that are arbitrary and more for control than anything, but in general rules help keep people in line.. Since humans are far from angels when they think they can get away with stuff..
Rules and laws are meant to be flexible and able to be changed when necessary and appropriate.
In 17 states, it's illegal to lick your wife's/girlfriend's pussy.
Who's the victim of this horrific crime?
Laws are correct at the time they are written. Over time, that can change.
Hmmm okay. So, killing people is just fine, kidnapping is a okay, stealing is awesome, huh? 🙄
Who said that?
You weren’t specific. You just said “do you believe laws are correct?” That’s a loaded question. You could be implying ANYTHING. Please be more specific.
My questions are meant to trigger people like you 😂
Well, you got me, for sure. 😂 Anyway, all rules and laws serve some sort of purpose. For example, if we didn’t have traffic laws, there would be more accidents.
That’s the problem. He didn’t give any context. It was a broad question.
People that think rules or laws are there to be broken usually support anarchy. I have no time for people like that
Correct. Anyone who voted against are people with no morals
@MK1997 Laws are made by humans. Humans are not perfect. Do you think every case in court has had the correct outcome?
Just Google "immoral laws", "unjust laws", or "questionable laws"
@MK1997 Some are. Some aren't. You need to start thinking for yourself and stop listening to whatever you're told.
Most ''laws'' are only there to feed 'the System'.
Fuck that :)
Correct. Experience over youth? Most all of the time. Like the law. Sometimes in an imperfect world adjustments are needed.
Because the law is for the common interest of majority.. it protect guild and conduct activities in the society.. so I think law is a good thing and law is correct
Laws have flaws. They dont protect everyone. They have loop holes and so does polititions.
Most laws, save lives, however, there are some pretty stupid things out there
It really depends on thw law. At onenpoint it was illegal to own blacks and now we let women vote. You see how both of those are not good.
It doesn't matter if nobody enforces said laws.
slavery was legal once,.
