It can mean good things too you know.
The church employs their devil's advocate, someone trained to provide good arguments of countering opinions, in order to evaluate where they themselves stand.

And so the church, in a sense, learns by asking themselves what the devil would do or say. The devil of course, much like it is not a real defined entity in the bible, is not truly the devil but an adversary. Us learning from our opposition is certainly a truth. It is the clash of ideas, opinions and values that help highlight and further our own. It is how we understand what is good and what is not.

If we all always agree we learn very little.

Could this be the line of reason you're hinting towards? If so just let me very politely remind you that the adversary, the devil, is not canonically evil.

The devil is the devil because it can never do right for anyone, or itself.

Technically the devil could right now apologise to God. The whole of existence would cease as a result, though. But it would mean the end of good and evil. Evil only exists as long as the devil does his work as his affront to God.

the phrase "it says" which book did you think u were quoting? when jesus did not obey the devil (gospel matthew etc.) he set an example that we should not obey the devil or satan etc.

No, you don't need to "obey" the devil, he doesn't order, or threaten, just convinces you. People make deals with the devil entirely of their own free will.
