Would a true christian have tattoosand used profanaty?

Yesterday at work I came across a weird lady. She claim to be a christian it was an awkward conversation this lady claims we are all human we will used profanity and she loves tattoos. I told her well if we are original true Christians we must live christian standards and keep the Lord happy and avoid at all cost the profanity as its demonic language and i explain our bodys is the temple of God and we must respect our selfs tattoos opens portals to demons. Strange if people truly want to keep the Lord please we must live up Christian standers and obey not be selfs and live the wordly life. What do you think?

Tats are questionable. I think it probably comes down to if the tats honor God or not.



As for profanity, we all slip up some times and let an F bomb drop or whatever but this should not be part of the regular and daily vocabulary of a Christian as scripture commands us to not use corse language or course jesting. So vulgarity would be a sin for the Christian.


In scripture we see this command:



“You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead, nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the Lord.”

Making cuts into the flesh was part of the mourning rituals of the pegan nations that surrounded Israel. God wanted Israel to be separate from them and to not adopt their practices. As far as I understand It tattooing was also a practice used by these pegan nations in mourning for the dead.


This scripture comes in a long section of prohibitions regarding rounding off the hairline, trimming beards, and eating meat with blood in it, so it must be taken in context of the point. The point being God was listing several practices of pegan nations, whether in regard to mourning or not that God did not want them following.


These commands were for Israel to follow only, not the church. Israel was to be a nation which was distinct from the nations surrounding it in every manner.


Fast forward to today. Is it sin to eat a blood rare steak? No. What about trim the corners of a man’s beard? No. What about not rounding off a hairline? No.


As far as the Old Testament we are to obey the moral laws, but many of these types of prohibitions were part of the civil law code mandated by God for Israel. We must remember Israel was to be a nation of evangelists. When they rejected Jesus that mission became the churches. There are different rules for each, but the moral law is to be obeyed by both.


Another example of command we find in the OT that is not for the church is tithing. Tithing was part of the civil laws given by God to Israel. In the NT we are commanded to give as the Lord has enabled us and to do so generously. So we must be carful to differentiate between commands for Israel only and did those than concern the age of grace for which we now find ourselves.

Yes vulgar profanity is the language of the devil andit is a very demonic language. People have a choice and choose potty mouth words. Yeah, it’s definitely not a sin. The church and Israel are separate entities with different rules for each.

In the OT you will find many strange regulations. Like not wearing clothes of mixed fibers, or not planting certain types of crops together, or not yoking certain type of animals together.

The same is true with dietary laws, and this issue. They do not apply to Christian’s. These were things that were directly contrasting to the nations and peoples that surrounded Israel. They were to be distinct from heathen nations. So much so that those nations would observe and ask why and then the Jew could explain to them about God.

As Christians were held to the moral law. You shall not steal, you shall not murder, etc etc. We are to obey that but the rest was for the Jews of Israel only in that time period.

So yeah, eating medium rare stake is not a sin. I’m not saying it I’d and never did.

tattoos have no levy on the content of someones character most of the times. lots of people claim to be christian, a claim is just that. i know plenty of non tattooed so called christians that judge others, curse and have had sex out of being married, cheated, beat their wives, had children out of wedlock or with multiple partners etc. seems like most people tailor fit their own lies to fit a christian narrative when all you have to do is see how they treat others something so simple

Those that seem to be quiet about it actually practice what they preach. This seems to be norm and proven time and time again. I have about five Christian friends, they agreed and said the same thing. I chalk it up to a few bad apples in the barrel.
