If Jesus is the word made flesh, according to the first chapter of John's Gospel, and He took His Flesh in Mary's womb, then Mary was without a doubt the first Christian. She knew and loved the Word made flesh, Jesus Christ, more perfectly than any other human ever has or ever will.
