Just as every scrap of kindling does it's job to keep the whole bonfire alight, so human lives are moving along to make the world brighter for the people and next generation.

It's why we're probably fucked now. We're coming now to a generation that doesn't want to have kids, or give a fuck about anyone but itself. It's not going to last long, and die a slower and longer death than any previous generation.

It's that they have existed, they all had loves, hates, concerns and desires. They all had ambitions and many made some beautiful things, art, music, philosophy. Many have helped others in their suffering, and rose people up. And there are names that have continued throughout the centuries, warriors, priests, kings, philosophers, thinkers. And some have literally changed the course of humanity.

But ultimately the only one who you are in competition with is yourself, to be the best you you can be. To live the best life you can.

It's ultimately what matters to you personally. What have we done in our short time on this earth? What connections did we make? What lives did we impact? What did we accomplish in our own lives. On the small scale mainly not necessarily the bigger picture.
