Even though God will continue to forgive us, is it still wrong to continue to commit the same sin over and over?

Yes repentance should lead to change, you are taking advantage of Gods forgiveness if you do it cause you can and can be forgiven later, it's different falling for temptation to the same sin tho cause it happens but doing it with the mindset that God will keep forgiving without change, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't count as repentance.

But we are naturally sinners so how can there ever truly be change from sin when it’s in our nature?

That's an excuse us sinners say to keep sinning, deep down, we do sin but if you repent without the change of mindset to not do it again, is it really repentance? I personally do this same wack excuse sometimes, which I gotta stop but it's like killing someone and then telling the family sorry that you hope they can forgive you and then you do it again, that shows no signs of actual repentance or even regret in general, God knows we will sin but if you lived a life if sin and repent, there should be a change of mindset to where you might not completely stop committing that sin but put the effort to try to resist and even avoid the sin

The thing is that God knows and reads your heart so he will know the difference, when you repent, you are suppose to mean it and that means wanting to change your ways of continuing in that sin, if you fall for the temptation again God will forgive.

That’s exactly what I was trying to explain to my mom and sister. They just kept saying “You can ask God for forgiveness as many times as you want, He’ll keep forgiving you.” And I never denied that that was true but I did say that it’s still up to us to fight against those sins in which we struggle with. Yes a lot of times you will fall short because of temptation and God will forgive us and give us Grace because he knows we’re only human but he also, like you mentioned, knows your heart , so he saw how differently you viewed the sin compared to before when you did it and felt no conviction and just selfishly committed the sin just because you knew/know you’ll be forgiven.

Then you know how it works anon, your family is viewing it wrong, it's not that simple and that's not how it works, you keep it up, you know how it is and pray for your fam for God to open their eyes to how it works.

They also kept telling me that my reason for wanting to wait to get baptized had nothing to do with anything. I basically said I wanted to wait to get baptized until I really worked on repentance and didn’t mean never sinking again (That’s obvious that that will never be the case) but I meant working on fighting against the sins in which I battle the most before presenting my salvation fully in that way. Which I don’t see anything wrong with that but they just kept saying “Baptism has nothing to do with repentance. It’s just salvation and making your salvation known to the public.” Which I know and understand but that doesn’t mean my reason for waiting is wrong.

It doesn't but you can repent whenever, I definitely agree that you should get baptized but waiting isn't necessary for God to hear your repentance and forgive you, if you want to repent, by all means do it anon, God won't deny It, he will hear you weither you are baptized or not 😆💯

If it's a serious matter (like sex outside of marriage, skipping church, watching porn, masturbation, to name a few) and is done with full knowledge and consent of the will, then yes.

If it's a lesser sin that's committed out of habit and human weakness (like using bad language), it's not as serious, but still wrong.

There really is no show thing as "sin." Just part of man-made religious dogma meant to control you through fear and intimidation. Doesn't mean there isn't right or wrong, good & evil, etc. It's just called "sin" as a controlling factor.

Well I wouldn’t say it’s evidence that God doesn’t exist but the confusion in which a question like this brings just is evidence that people aren’t aware of the truth in which God has given us and majority have chosen to go by their own manufactured truths rather than THE truth.

well that all comes down to what god is. is he all powerfull, omniscient and benevolent? then he'd be able and willing to communicate what he wants us to do in such a way that there is no missunderstanding or disagreement between us.

A lot of people are religious but not true believers. They follow the religion rather than follow who the religion is suppose to be built on and that’s because a lot of religions, the foundations of it, aren’t built on Gods principles but their owns.

The truth can be known. The truth is written in our hearts (our conscious of right and wrong), conviction. The truth is in all of his creation in the world. The sun, the moon and the stars. The entire universe. The trees, the air, the way our body functions and most importantly the truth is his word and his word is written in the Bible. God is all powerful. The Alpha and the Omega. He’s Today and tomorrow. His power hasn’t changed, he hasn’t changed. He is a God who can not lie but the difference between God and man is sin. We disconnect from him every time we sin and sin makes us forget who he is and in essence makes us forget who we are in him but Christ dying on the cross reconnected us back to the source himself and in him we are saved and he even gives us the Holy spirit to guide us. Although, we will fall short due to us being spirits in a fleshly body living in a sinful word, with the enemy and his subtle whispers and lies but he gives us Grace. We have to choose him, he won’t force our hands. He knows his power, but do we?

conviction is not knowledge. i can be convicted of something that is not true. therefore conviction is not a method with which you can produce knowlegde.

Murder is a sin. Shouldn't do it once, let alone twice. There are other things that some people regard as a sin but I don't. Ok to do those again.
