Christians, is it right to ask God to forgive a Sin that you know you'll eventually commit again?

I'm Catholic (Christian), so we go confess to a priest in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This question naturally applies here to Catholics as well.

I asked the question in this structure because I have a feeling that most people on this site aren't Catholic, and don't go to Confession.

One ought to repent and make a firm resolution to amend their lives. Nevertheless though, because of our fallen human nature, there are some sins which we may repeat, whether in moments of passion or weakness. In such those moments, we ought to ask God's forgiveness and make a good confession.

Everyone commit sins. No one is an exception. The most important is to walk the same path, and stand up after each fall.

You don't need a priest to confess your sins to. 1 Timothy 2:5. "For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." and that doesn't say priest. You can go directly to God through Jesus, and in his name. That also means any prayers to Mary goes to deaf ears too. No one in Heaven knows or cares about what is going on down on Earth. They are having too much fun and talking to all the Bible Saints. Now as far as forgiving sins that you may do again. 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Confession here is the key. But that does not give you Carte Blanche to purposely sin. Galations 5:19-21 "19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." This means if you make a habit of certain sins and purposely do them you will suffer loss. Galations 6:7 "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap."

Do you regret that sin? And will you commit that sin on purpose or because you know you will eventually succumbing to the temptation despite doing your best to avoid it?

From what you understand, in the New Testament, the intention behind any action is almost as equally important as the action itself.

Yes because nobody knows for certain what's going to happen even 10 minutes from now. You can get hit by a crashing plane or a psycho murderer any random minute of your life. So you do NOT know if you will do the same sin again.

As a Catholic as well I would say it's to do with intent as in you may commit the sin again ( and unless it's something extreme probably will ) but are you A) Genuinely sorry and B) Genuinely have not intention of doing such again

What you are describing is "repentance" There is no forgiveness of sin without repentance.

Yes for example ask forgiveness for lying. We all know we will lie again but it’s good to ask for Him to forgive us.

Yes, as long we feel bad for it and want to not do it again.
If we keep doing it but we don't do nothing to spot that ask of sin, is simply become pointless, but never become wrong.

You should probably ask for forgiveness when you die if what I imagine what happens after death is somewhat accurate

No. God's grace isn't a license to sin as you wish. God forgives mistakes not willful sin and disobedience.
