Why are Christians so mean?

So I used to see myself as a Christian but now I'm a self proclaimed spiritualist who just wonders why Christians are so mean?

Like I know the bible says love thy neighbor but the fact is in love there is no judgement, there is no hate or discrimination.

The sad thing is I see Christian folks going around judging trans people and even asexual and the whole pride community in total. Shouldn't your message be like love thy neighbor and basic judge not lest ye be judged?

Because judgement is ultimately for God to decide and not to bully someone or being mean at all.

Because first of all Christians are human, too. They are often held up to higher moral standards or people expect them to not do certain things just because they proclaim to be Christians while if they were secularists no one would talk about it.

The answer I'd give is that they have a different understanding of what love is than you do. Sure God is the only one jduging but from a Christian perspective love doesn't mean that someone has to accept and support every lifestyle choice another person makes. That's a modern perspective because modern society is built on the idea anything goes as long as it gives pleasure and is fun. Like people want sex without consequences, relationships without responsibility, food without having to cook it, sweets, crips and nothing bitter.

From a Christian perspective that is a problem because the Christian perspective is different: There is objective truth and there are behaviours that are right or wrong. From a Christian perspective speaking about this truth is part of love. So Christians have to find a way to separate themselves from certain behaviour and while not making fun or discriminate of people.

If a Christian is simply expressing their opinion based on their religious beliefs that trans are wrong, then I don’t think it’s wrong.
If a Christian says something like “go die, you’re a trans, or saying rude thing” then it’s rude and wrong.


If a Christian is expressing their religious beliefs, then it’s not inherently wrong because it’s not them who is judgmental but they just follow their religious beliefs, but if a Christian themselves hate trans people and are rude to them, then it would be considered judgmental.


Everyone has their own opinions, as long as we express it in a respectful manner, that’s not considered mean.

I saw my BFF who is a trans woman get judged by a Christian group who said "oh its wrong and no Christian can be friends with people like that". They got their whole group to unfriend and block her and even go to the limits of spreading lies from what one person I'm that group who refuses to follow their footsteps have said.

Most Christians aren't actual Christians. Shit, most haven't even read the Bible cover to cover they just use it to reinforce their secular values of bigotry to things they don't like or don't value. Like women or gay people.

It is true that we should love our neighbors as Jesus loved us. But we also ought to speak the truth in live 1 Timothy 4 vs 5 instead of letting people be satisfied with lies. Also the church hurt not Jesus don't turn your back on him

@strateguy632 any Christian can just say that someone else isn't a "real" Christian when they disagree with how they are carrying the title. That doesn't stop them from doing it, though. You know what would stop them? All the real Christians leaving the churches that preach hate. The "fake" Christians are entirely sustained by being included with the "real" ones. Walk away so that only their extremism is visible and the problem solves itself one way or another.

Unless, of course, you don't actually object to the hate because you agree with the motives behind it and just think they take it too far? My whole criticism here is of the direction, not a magnitude. If you agree with the direction but not how far they take it, then you agree with the direction.
