the word "moral" does not inherently come with "correct or incorrect" markers. moral means "you have a system that distinguishes right from wrong". i could have a moral that says being nice is wrong and muder is right. that's by definition still a moral. if you wanna adress a certain sort of moral ideas, you gotta first define them. cause otherwise there's no way to say whether they are correct or not. cause after all: right and wrong is subjective and not objective.

no it does absolutely not mean something "like an employee". it absolutely means slave inthe modern way of understanding it. they were not free to leave and in fact slave owners were explicitly allowed to beat their slaves as long as they didn't die in the next 2 days following the beating. plus it even sets the price to be 30 sheckels and for women to be half of that. so it is sexist on top of promoting slavery.

the soviet union had severe political and ideological issues that may or may not have anything to do with their secular morals. i don't know anything about their secular morals to even have an opinion on that. but i was speaking about humanist secular morals. not any secular morals.

Just because it makes someone happy, doesn’t mean it’s morally right.

One needs to see if what they want to do is harmful to themselves or to others.

That is how I view it.

But depending on one’s philosophy, one may view something as good and another may view something as bad—people disagree on what is moral and what is not.

I personally believe that it’s important to be considerate of the safety and wellbeing of others.

Many good and moral things can and will make you happy, but so can many immoral things. People who use their happiness as the basis for their morals are just trying to rationalize their shitty and selfish behavior - and there's a segment of the population that very much encourages this.
