Because it's religion and religion have no logic. But actually Islam is different from all other religion. It says there is no place of application of our mind in religion. It says just to follow it whatever it says. It gives the statement that Quran is the MOST ACCURATE book and ISLAM IS MOST PERFECT RELIGION. So there is no scope of any changement or upgradation in whatever ideas and thoughts people had when Islam born.

The only option they have is just to justify and manipulate the meaning. Even when it is clearly seen to others that it is clearly wrong they just have to justify it anyway no matter they look dumb doing so.

Because that is the correct procedure for any rule. When people play any game like chess has rules. We interpret rules in our mind. players don't agree. each interpreted according to themselves to help them win. There also is no "sharia," only "Islamic law". The first component in sharia is that there be a Caliph to oversee it. Nothing makes Westerners shit themselves more than there being a caliphate!
