Why does my sister feel as though being saved and finding God is a bad thing?

Like she’s been saying things like “Everyone just wants to be so spiritual and woke lately. Acting as though they’re so saved now and have found God and then that’s all they talk about. No one wants to hear that.” As a believer I don’t say anything but it is odd to hear her talk like that because why is she so bothered by souls coming to the truth of Who God is? When you find God most times you can’t help but to talk about your testimony and let others know how wonderful who he is and I personally don’t see anything wrong with it. It’s meant to encourage others to understand and know they can be saved too.

Everyone is a sinner and therefore inherently evil. The natural mind of sinful humans does not want God at all, which is why there are so many atheists and "fake believers". After all, thou shalt not commit adultery is a commandment, yet 95 percent of people claiming to be "christians' or "believe in God" commit adultery on a regular basis. If they were "saved" they would not be violating the ten commandments every day of their lives.

I've accidentally taken the LORD's name in vain exactly 4 times in the past 20 years, and I kicked myself hard each time I caught myself doing it.

She's just going through mental issues, or a crisis, is all.

Ask her (hopefully she won't stab you) why the hell she is gatekeeping others. God doesn't see much use for her judgmental ass, and she needs to do better for herself instead of projecting onto others.

It’s possible that she’s afraid of being judged if she chose to follow God. And it’s possible that she cannot fathom how people can have such joy when they find God, so she chooses to believe their joy to be fake.
But the thing is, when a person comes to salvation in Christ, they can’t help but talk about it! They can’t help but want to share their testimony, even if others don’t want to listen. This newfound faith, and joy and love for Christ is too good to keep to themselves!

A Salvation experience often results in a degree of asceticism, choosing to do without things. It goes against the mainstream, will cause others to think you are judging them by your example and is definitely not cool.

I get that. Some people who become saved use that as a means to judge others when being truly saved produces something new in you that just naturally makes you want to talk about your experience with God in general, not to judge. In that case, I could get why she says and feels the way she feels but she says it just at the mere mention of and that’s what’s odd to me. Like the mention of being saved triggers something in her. Also, if she doesn’t believe that‘a fine too. We all have our time to choose him or maybe some people never will choose him. It’s not up to us to judge them but why make those who are saved feel bad about it you know?

So has she been saved? Because this sounds similar to me when I was younger. I was saved. But I also felt like I was just going through the motions. I had a lot of questions that nobody was really qualified to answer. My spiritual journey was 20 years in the making to fully accept God's love and understand him better.

My guess is she has a battle going within her right now about this.
