Yes, the energy of others can have a huge impact on us. When you get closer to God, generally you will feel more at peace because:

1 John 4:4

'Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.'

And:

Jeremiah 29:11

'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.'

But for this to happen we need to continually build our faith daily.

Where you work probably has very little godly energy and you'd need to protect yourself from what is around there.
