Was Jesus real?

Do you believe Jesus was a real person?

What evidence is there that he actually existed? I'm not religious but I've always thought he sounded like a pretty cool guy.

He existed but all the story telling about him is not true. There are all sorts of theories about him, and even scientists accept his existence and birth. One theory is about his birth is that the Virgin Mary was either a prostitute or was raped by a Roman centurion. Another says that the three wise men were astrologers and the Star of Bethlehem was Jupiter in a rare planetary alignment that made it brighter in the night sky.

Another theory suggest he as married with sons who had names very similar the disciples.

theories have basis. but those speculation just assumed bible was false and no miracle so guessed due to assumptions.

Publius Cornelius Tacitus, renowned historian of Ancient Rome wrote of Jesus’s existence and execution.


At that time, the Roman Empire was not Christian and had no incentive to cater to Christianity, hence the execution of Jesus and the practice of killing early Christians for sport in the gladiatorial colosseum.


It wasn’t until Emperor Constantine’s reign that Christianity was embraced by Rome’s government.

Yes, Jesus was real and his existence can be confirmed by historical accounts by third parties (e. g. Rome) as well as opposing parties to Christianity (Jewish and Islamic sources).

What’s debated is not his existence, but who he was.

Some believe he was a man. Some believe he was a prophet. Some believe he was a deity.

I agree he was a good guy too. He preached radical acceptance and cared about marginalized groups and the outcasts of society. He always talked about love and forgiveness and promoted non-violence. The people he was most critical of were hypocritical holier than thou types in positions of power. He feared nobody, called people out who were corrupt, and spoke the truth — even if it costed him his life.

If he was real, there would be evidence by now, but there isn't any.

It was a very long time ago. Lots of people have died and there is no evidence of them either.

maybe. if he was, he was just the great grand son of a political leader born inside a sexual scandal with not much hopes of appealing to his leadership position granted by blood, cause the romans occupied the place.

well it's the perspective of rational realism. what's more probable? jesus being the bastard born to mariah and joseph as a result of adultery (sex outside of marriage) or the only person who ever lived being the result of some god making a person pregnant? the ods are clear on that one.

It's quite possible there was someone named Jesus many years ago, it doesn't mean much really.

He most likely was the equivalent of a modern day cult leader.

Where is the evidence that Julius Caesar existed? We know about him through writing, histories , recordings. Just like Jesus.

It is remarkable that people easily believe that Mohammed was a real kid person, and that the Buddha was a man named Siddhartha Gautama, but believing that Jesus was a real person is just a bridge too far.

abouut jews, you mixed up time eras. if you mean jews now, they didn't murder because born afterwards.
if you mean jews then , they saw him but didn't murder him. see book john chapter 18, 31. instead of repeating hearsay.
