I'm going to explain what sin is in a very simple way because I see that there are people here who have no idea about it. A serious sin is anything that violates the 10 commandments.
I asked the question because in the Western world the impression I have is that the current generation does not know, for example, that having sex outside of marriage is a sin, or using the holy name of God in vain is also a sin.

Most people don’t know and don’t care.


Only those who are concerned about holiness and living a holy life would truly be invested in learning about it.


But even then, what is considered sinful will vary from one religion to the next.


But, whether or not someone is religious, I believe that it’s good to live life with a clear conscience — to at least be attuned to your own internal sense of right and wrong.

You could only be referring to what what people call "sins" according to their particular spiritual mythology. You have to assume that there is a God instead of relying on things like morality, ethics and reason.

I'm from a different religion but I agree with most of the Ten Commandments as well. Modern society is problematic for sure.
