I heard of it being a little different. Like if a bird flew into you home window and died, you would have a death in your family. It happened twice when I was a teen. First time a bird flew and hit the window and died my grandmother died a day latter. The second time it happen two hours latter we get a call telling us my uncle was killed.
the same coincidence with my gramma. after dead bird, she died of old age.
between these events, i asked neighbors if it had meaning. they said no but were wrong.
I am that stitious at all Paris.. I would just think somebody pranked me honestly.. Or maybe it was just a weird coincidence..
@Joshydavid25 She Has Bad Luck Since Then... xx
Damn Paris that's crazy..
@Joshydavid25 Scary!!! xxoo
Most definitely... Thanks for MHO!

I'm not superstitious. I'm not even aware of a superstition about dead birds. I would just feel bad for the bird.
Less than a year ago, I found a dead hummingbird on our back deck. We have a feeder there, so there are quite a few hummingbirds around.
I thought "How sad." But I picked it up, held it in my hand and examined it - the intricacy of its feathers, the reds and greens glinting in the sun. Such a tiny miracle of nature.
It was a rare experience to hold one and view it up close.
RIP, little guy.
Depnds on what the superstition is. I'm more likely to pay attention to Irish folk superstitions. Things like: A knife falling on the floor means you'll have a guest, wearing your shirt inside out is good luck, knocking over a chair is bad luck, an itchy nose means someone is speaking ill of you, never walk off a path because evil faeries will take you, etc.
My grandmother always spoke of folk tales and superstitions. I don't fully believe in them but it's fun to think about and to learn of the history behind them.
I'm not but this reminds me of yesterday morning. As I was leaving for my run a squirrel tried to come inside. I stopped the little guy, but then had to check to see if there was something threatening him. We do not get many near here, but occasionally a coyote does wander by.
Sorry for the tangential response.
i was practicing crow calls a few months back. one day i came home and found a huge crow, dead, in my front yard. i went to the crow, said a few words (caw caw), picked him up and buried him in my back yard and said a few more words over his grave (caw caw). all good.
it was the day before my ex and i signed our separation agreement. Good omen for me.
Birds fly sometimes into glass doors or windows and kill themselves. I've seen it few times. Sometimes a cat that hunts in your garden wants to win your favor and lies some "gifts" in front of your door.
most likely cause.
to Frey.
🤣🤣 I am pretty sure your have a pet cat.
Or you are friendly to your neighborhood cats..
They think you are bad at hunting, so they bring you food!..
No superstitious activity
nope... that was probably my cats...
Absolutely your cats. They're trying to provide for you.
@mandyfire98 exactly... and they look so proud when they do it, lol
I'm just glad that the one time it actually happened, the bird was still in great shape and I was able to free it, lol
Awww they wanted you to massacre the bird.
They probably saw you free it and thought "no asshole, that's wrong, you gotta eat it dummy"
@mandyfire98 lmfao... that was exactly the look, Luna was giving to me...
Cats drop dead birds as gifts. Sometimes birds fly into windows and doors and accidentally kill themselves. Sometimes it’s stupid kids pulling a prank. Don’t read into it too much.
I see them quite frequently in the country. It’s part of nature. I pulled one out of my dryer duct that had been blocking fresh air flow. I still have a few articles of clothing that still smell musty from not drying thoroughly.
You mentioned possibly having butt munch neighbors.
My dad would sling our dog’s shit over the fence into our neighbors yard because they had four dogs who wouldn’t stfu at night.
I wouldn’t worry about the bird. Kick it to the curb or throw it in the woods. Something will eat it.
I am not superstitious but I’d be disturbed to see a dad bird.
Dad bird is sad about dead bird 😞
@Still-alive Oops sorry haha
I meant “dead” bird
you're fine don't worry, just poking a little fun lol.
Nah... Just nature.
Old bird, cat or other animal, me forgetting to comb my hair in the morning 🤣. Everything is possible. 😄
No problem with that.. 😄
It depends. It’s not all that serious. Many natural reasons a dead bird could drop at your front door.
@Altheavas I think you are right too
I'd be upset and surprised but figured it was a cat or fox or something
If it was a cat that means it was a gift for you so you should be grateful lol :P
"There is a cat nearby... And they brought me a gift... Again..."
Living in Africa a dead bird is the least of my worries on the doorstep. Locally there's baboons, cobras, rats and penguins.
I don't believe in superstitious. A bird died, that's all.
I would feel sad for the little bird, but I heard it's bad luck to be superstitious.
I get birds pecking at bugs on my roof all the time. Or making their nests. I wouldn’t be surprised they get into fights with each other and wound up dead.
We have several feral cats in the neighborhood...
Nope.
If a bird did that, I'd at least see if there was anything I could do to help it.
Good! I did the same for a dying squirrel next to my porch about 5 years ago. At first, I just thought it was playfully rolling around in the snow, then, I thought it was just stretching, but it never got up from the stretch so,, I went down to get a closer look and my being so close to it didn't scare it away so, I thought, maybe it's freezing in the snow. I got a couple plastic boxes (milk crates) and rags so I could pick it up and put it in one box and covered it with the other so it couldn't jump out and start running all over the house after I thawed it out and I brought it into the basement near the furnace hoping I could save it. But, it was already dying by the time I picked it up and I don't think the weather had anything to do with it.
My cat dropped a dead chipmunk on my landing. Does that count?
It is better than having a dead rat nailed to your front door
What DO YOU think that means (evil laugh)
@midnightmoon05 it means you are a rat.
Your next!
@midnightmoon05 It is sort of a cop thing.
Or a gangster thing.
@midnightmoon05 same thing.
Gangs and cops are best friends ;)
@midnightmoon05 Well , I literally know hundreds of cops and 99% of them are really good guys.
They are bad influences 😂
You are the gangster. Heheheee
@midnightmoon05 I just was exposed to a lot of things when I was a kid.
No. Just means that was old, shot or ate poison.
Thinking to much
I'll bury it in my backyard with a sign
Rest in peace

No. Birds are stupid. Keep bashing themselves against windows.
😂😂Street cats hunt pigeon in my neighborhood and eat it in my parking lot 😂😂i don't know what to say
😂😂i have pet fantail pigeons 🐦
Also have cat 😂😂do u know how careful i have to be? Because of my pet cat.. street cats were drowned to my house so I started to feed them too now my parking lot space is their spot and they hunt pigeons very often
Not my pet fantail pigeons because they live in a separate wing and have a grill so the cat can't reach them and I'm so scared to let them 🕊️ fly in open.. it been two years plus i didn't let them fly in open because I'm scared to lose them.. i feel bad for them
This all depends on your personal preference. Superstitions generally refer to beliefs that are not based on scientific evidence but are accepted by a particular community or culture. Some people hold firmly to such beliefs, while others reject them. The important thing is that your beliefs are meaningful to you and do not harm you. When determining your own beliefs, I always recommend approaching them with critical thinking and an open mind.
Glad that I don’t have that superstition. Have quite a few birds flying into my windows.
No. I’d just assume it died in the air. Lol. I don't know.
I would give the poor guy a proper burial. I’m superstitious for fun.
A cat did that, always an explanation as to why
Cats are sneaky
I'd be so sad 😞
Negative, pigeons die all the time in the parking garage.
Yeah I am kind of superstitious. How about you?
Thank you 👍
Im the type to Google things all the time so yes I am superstitious. You got any changes coming up in life?
No. I don’t believe in that stuff.
bro if there was a dead bird on my doorstep if kick it away like tf am i supposed to do mf dead 💀
That would be creepy
I don't believe in that stuff
No. I just burry it in my back yard
It could be a gifted from a cat.
to maddy, most likely the cause
Damn neighbors cat.
No but I certainly wouldn't like it
The neighborhood cat likes you….
I would look for the cat.
Nope. I don't know.
No, I don't believe in that kind of thing.
I would freak out.
"GJ, cat."
That Would be weird.
Bad sign
Our cat does that
I wouldn’t think anything of it.
