From what I’ve read, CS gas canisters were used as smoke grenades which ended up being flammable. And there’s evidence the cult set fires, not sure how big they wanted those fires.

It's been a while since I brushed up on that one. I have no doubt the Branch Davidians were a cult and some stuff was going on that justified the government going in. I don't think there was any weird conspiracy or ulterior motive on the government's part. But I don't think they handled it well either.

I think it's a case that we will never know the full details.

Totally agree. And like all “government conspiracies” it was to CYA, which I think they did after. Big time. But Fed law enforcement did totally change after that to de-escalation and less swat shit.
