- A like a smaller government who doesn't make up random shit as they go along and decide to enforce said random made up shit. I want the police to be held more accountable. I want taxes to be lessened
No taxation without representation. Freedom of speech. Freedom to own weapons to defend agaisnt the government. I want representives to represent and not govern. I want a voting process with electric counters and not humans who can be corrupted and unreliable. I want all laws to be consulted with citizens before they're added. I want peope to be allowed to do whatever the hell they want to as long as it doesn't harm anyone. I want people to be held responsible for lies and misinformation and slander of/about others. I want pedophiles, rapist, and murderers to have the same punishment (death). I wan't all races, all ethnicities, all sexes to be treated equal legally. I want trails by a jury of my peers. I want to be innocent until proven guilty. I want property to be siezed only after I give my permission or I am proven guilty. I want searches and procedures to be carried out only under emergency circumstances, legal arrest, given permission, or cout ordered by judge AND jury. I want the freedom to protest and petition the government. I want the government to leave their nose out of our fucking business. I want freedom of religion so long as that religion doesn't instruct people to harm others. I want the seperation of Church and state, no laws should govern how the church supports it's community and how the community supports their church unless it harms others. I want immigrants to be considered legal US citizens after learning American history, culture, basic English and taking a vow to uphold the constitution, defend fellow Americans, and be dedicated to keeping America free. I want anyone who renounces their oath to America, refuses to pledge allegiance, burns the flag, or shows defiance to the US and it's people and constitution to be exiled and declared a non-US citizen after a proper arrest and trial. I want citizens to have the right to fight against unlawful arrest at the time it's happening. I want citizens to be able to be able to arrest others who are witnessed breaking the law. I want people to be able to defend themselves, others, and property against ANYONE. I want some sort of "citizen justice" law where someone may act take justice for an illegal act that they have witnissed or have evidence that said illegal act was preformed, as an example: I witness someone break in my house, beat me within an inch of my life, and kill my dog. I may kill the actors who carried out such acts at any point in time until the person is arrested and tried or confesses to their act and seeks my forgiveness and rights the wrong in a way that I and them agree upon within reason determined by an ubiased third party. I tech corporations to not have so much power over people and spy on people. I want private businesses to be able to refuse service from anyone for any reason. I want private businesses to not be rquired by law to meet quotas for hiring certain people. I want private businesses to be free to hire anyone they want to, and free to not hire anyone they want to. I want there to be a "no quota" law for first responders and military. There's a lot to change and improve. We used to be free, but then peope started listening to the government telling them what to do. Project Infektion has really taken off. We're about to literally be ruled by a socialist regime with connections to pedo sex rings and big tech and a new world order. All because we got fattened up by fast food, we became lazy, tv programs brainwashed us, and we don't resist unless it's to further the agenda of person who wants power and control.0|00|0Is this still revelant?Honestly there are a few points in there I disagree with, 1 being let citizens arrest people I feel like it a very bad thing, I feel like the cops should handle that
I like your honesty. I'm not thinking like full on CHAZ, but more like citizens arrest similar to how many states have now. A citizen can detain and wait for police to do the rest. I think it would do a lot for the war on crime. Imagine if you saw someone in the process of doing something terrible and you could actually do something instead of just filing a report and hope that they get brought to justice.

- On the US government's best day, I still wouldn't trust it to prepare a sack lunch, much less anything important.
The US government is by design bureaucratic and therefore slow to act. This was intentional in order to prevent a rapid abuse of power, but the growth of government has exploded ever since WW2, . While it was originally intended to be mostly a meritocracy, it has traditionally been a "spoils system" (aka corrupt) since the mid-early 1800s.
Although just the tip of the iceberg, some major modern problems include:
- A "revolving door" relationship between the media and government, creating what is effectively a propaganda wing that has destroyed objective journalism.
- Career politicians with virtually no real world experience being put into committees they aren't qualified for.
- The bulk of both major parties would rather see the nation devastated than allow their opposition a victory, even when it can be an easy bipartisan victory.
- Either major party can pretty effectively ignore the constitution as long as the aforementioned media can convince the population into believing it's a necessary or proper decision rather than first passing an amendment to legalize the act. While this should theoretically be blocked by the supreme court, past failures by the Supreme Court to crush unconstitutional action has created a precedent for doing so, and precedent itself is often used as justification in court rulings.
Then you've got the parties themselves... One of them is a bloated hive mind that will happily say anything to appeal to anyone while selling out the country and anything else that doesn't actually belong to them while pushing nonsensical agendas in the pursuit of power. The other one is only held together by mutual opposition to the other party, has the collective spine of a jellyfish, and often fails miserably to communicate with even their own base due to lagging understanding of modern media and culture. The "third parties" are all a joke, too tunnel-visioned to ever become competitive, and frankly wouldn't actually be any better if they had a comparable share of power.
A summary of some changes that should be made (but probably never will without a massive culling that definitely won't ever happen):
- Decimation of political parties. Treat politicians colluding with each other outside of the capitol building in official, recorded sessions as a white collar crime worthy of potential impeachment and removal.
- Force elected officials to consent to heavily monitored, publicly visible income while in office. If a single dime higher than their allotted salary makes it into their accounts while occupying an elected seat, it's off to prison with them.
- Implement an "up or out" policy for elected officials.
- Massive cutbacks in existing government agencies and initiatives; eliminate or dissolve redundant agencies, and ban government payouts to companies or insitutions without an exchange of goods and services.
- The military is another page worth on its own, but in short, redesign how funding is allotted so that the military itself gets more say in what exactly gets funded rather than congress.0|10|0Is this still revelant?

- Anonymous1 moIt needs to give free healthcare to everyone like every single other developed country in earth. It’s embarrassing.0|20|1Is this still revelant?

Well unless there in a accident, most people who get medical bills usually have to do with health problems that could be avoided, example over weight, diabetes type 2 is possible to avoid as long as you take care of how much sugar you eat, there are other's that are avoidable however i think anyone who was involve in a accident or something that they could not control should get limited healthcare. Like insurance which is what we have. If needed they can ask others for help and that's what they should do
Well if a poor person as diabetes then more then likely it was that poor person's fault for eating and drinking so many things that could get him in that state, not saying there cases where it isn't there fault but usually its there fault. So in short he should pay for his own mistake's so that he may learn to never do it again
I also feel like having free healthcare would just give everyone a excuse to get fat and lazy, why would they care when they healthcare is covered by the government or should i say everyone else who pay's taxes including him
Well one were super fat by choice, most of those other countries usually have people who enjoy working out, even if our capitalist country were to stop, why would fat people stop being fat. Instead it just cause more people to get fat, not all at once but threw the years it will. Were fat by choice, capitalist governments are simply giving u the option to be fat or not and well depends on your choices you will have to pay for those options either threw pain or threw happiness.
Plus most of those countries are nearly as large as America nor do they have everything that we have but then again our country is built on rebellious people. Our founding father's were and so are we today
our country could if we didn't waste money on wars and building a private prison slavery system. Instead they force you to pay insurance theives and tell you giving you free healthcare but there not like obama
@israelisevil One we put money into what you call waging war against terrorism because it is out there and you know it. Of course they aren't a threat to us right now but like North Korea give it time and eventually it will have a nuclear bomb ready and waiting to lunch, as for the prison system honestly if people stop making such dumb ass mistake's that they could easily avoid then there wouldn't be as many prisoners now would there
@israelisevil Plus we have a lot of debt which so far not one of the 5 presidents that we have had sense i was born was able to change that, then there's the fact that if people got free healthcare who would pay for it, we would. Therefore your taxes would increase depending on how many people need healthcare and if you haven't notice were in a pandemic which will put 100s of people in hospital's and for people who are just now starting to work will have to work even more, which mean's less sleep for some, which means a lower immune system which means the virus will spread even more.
If we wage war "against terrorism" why do we bomb syria's chemical weapons they use on isis that we let israel use on arab hospitals. Why did reagan give muja hadeen that becomes al quaeda millions in 70s. and why right now are we helping syrian rebels who are proven to be supported by and led by isis.
we support isis because it destablizes middle eat and we demonize bashar al assad and putin cause there willing to use any means neccesary get rid of terrorism. America only helps jews steal land from christain and muslim arabs in palestine. since creation of israel/destruction of palestine there has been no predominantly christain nation in middle east.
I think we should be more careful what groups we fund cause oftentimes to stop governments trying deal with terrorism with neccesary violence like lybia and syria iraq to but fuck sadam but we also funded sadam we say they violent and attack them but were attacking people who are just trying fight terrorism and isis in syria. Trump said he woudln't attack syrias chemical weapons like obama but then he did same thing.
Nothing is free and besides all those countries with free health care are socialist and their economy sucks
If you want people to have free health care become a billionaire and make it come true don’t shame someone because they work and are extremely successful after all Amazon’s ceo didn’t invent that so he could sit around idle
- Opinion Owner1 mo
@ninaneedshelp Canada's economy sucks? Really? According to Bloomberg, since 2016 most Canadians are better off than most Americans financially. It's because healthcare is free, so nobody goes bankrupt (or die!) because of health care. Lots of other stuff is free too. Few have student debt because universities are half-subsidized by the government. Canadians live longer and are happier and healthier than Americans. Wait, why is socialism bad again?

213- Going through turbulent times right now, what with the effectively 3rd world-escue elections.0|10|0
- I kinda stopped caring about politics around the time the riots started happening and Trump went for the photo op at that church.
Everything's so fucked up and anytime it seems like a change can happen, somehow it gets thwarted.
Like what's the one thing we all liked that Trump was gonna do? Get us out of Iraq. And every time he almost got it done, at the last second, some random member of his cabinet would be like "oh no we can't do that, we got all this stuff to do!" and then we'd end up sending people back.
But you don't really hear much about that in the news and if you do they try to find a way to twist it.
And what about Bernie sanders and Andrew yang and all these other democrats which people are so much more willing to support.
Bernie is like a straight up communist and I still know hard right people who were willing to vote for him over Trump... Why was he not put up for election or Andrew?
Like, isn't it kind of insane that there were two people the country seemed to agree would have been acceptable candidates for presidency but instead we got two people almost no one thought were good options?
It kind of reminds me about a history teacher I had who told me that the founding fathers really didn't want our country to become a two party system and now I see why.0|10|0Bernie sanders is the reason Trump is being treated badly. Did you see what he said in davos? And Obama funded Iraq he should be put in prison like they are so ready to jump down Trumps throat about a Russian collusion but obama literally sent money to our enemies.
@ninaneedshelp so did the rest of the government. Everything's so corrupt and fucked up. It's not gonna be solved until something big happens.
- It's FUBAR at this point. Congress has conceded most of its power to the executive branch and merely spends its time pandering to plutocrats. Plus, government agencies have taken control and dictate much of domestic policy and all foreign policy.
Corporations and global elites now pretty much run the show - think Council on Foreign Relations, Bilderbergers, World Economic Forum, etc.
And mainstream media - all owned by mega-corporations - serves as a means of social engineering. It is equal to state-run propaganda.1|10|0So in short basically we haven't had a democracy sense the mid to late 1900s. Basically we have a more what?
Wilson jacked us around by bringing in the Federal Reserve (Rothschild Bankers). He also set a precedent by subverting the first amendment.
But George Dubya Bush did by far the worst damage in terms of imperial presidency and congress let him. Plus we lost more liberty during his administration than ever in the history of this country. And Obama didn't change a thing.
I'd describe what we have now as fascism (the melding of corporatism and government combined with brute authoritarianism). That is being led by the global elites I mentioned above. They are intent on a coup d'etat against our constitution. They want to enslave humanity.Well everyone sense the beginning has been more about world power, some more so then other so i can't say that what your saying is wrong sense its only been a few years sense the WW2 came and yea
- Some thing I think of every other government. A government or body of leadership became necessary many years ago. Much like many necessary things in life, it not without its dangers. My issue isn't the government itself. My issue is that we don't have a large group of unified citizens to create accountability and enforce it in our government. So our government is very much full of evils. So long as people are unwilling or able to look past their political their chosen side of the political isle and accept the harsh realities that come with doing so, nothing will change. We also will never fix a large number of issues that we have had for many generations.0|10|0
- Anonymous1 moI don't particularly like it and the last few years have really highlighted the urgent need for change. There is so much corruption within the American government today and we are ill-equipped to properly handle it. Many things have been left to honor when it really needs ironclad laws, because people today just don't seem to care about honor.0|10|0
What is wrong with the government?
- Opinion Owner1 mo
It is rife with corruption. Constantly finding government officials pocketing tax-payer money. Preserving coal and oil industries for personal profit at the expense of the environment and emerging jobs in producing clean energy like solar panels, biofuels, etc. Electoral college needs to go, as it ignores the will of the people and defeats the purpose of having a public vote. Filibustering needs to go. Corporations have far too much power over the government. Government claims there's separation of church and state, but there isn't and needs to be. Presidents can use executive orders to bypass the legislative branch, avoiding the system of checks and balances that are intended to keep anyone from having total power. There has been supreme court packing. There have been violations of civil liberties, like the recent approval of the government to view your internet activity without a warrant or just cause. Two-party system is complete garbage and leaves the government uselessly ineffective.
I agree with everything that you have said and my question to u is how could we change it
- Show All Show Less
- Opinion Owner1 mo
Outlaw filibustering. Outlaw superpacs. Create a strong, moderate 3rd party. Abolish the electoral college and decide president off of popular vote. Limit executive orders. Make crimes committed while serving in public office an automatic felony and carry a minimum of 10 years in prison, without exception of which office. And I mean real prison, not the comfy rich person prison they usually go to. Replace subjects taught in school without real-world application with political studies, so the population can actually be informed on what they're voting on and why it's important (as most people have little to no understanding of how our political system actually works). And take a page out of Australia's book when it comes to voting. Give people who vote a hot dog/veggie dog.
HAHA i like that last part but why should we get rid of protection once you reach the presidential office
- Opinion Owner1 mo
Because no one should be above the law. We've seen how dangerous it can be when someone is. It's simply too much power to trust anyone with. A good leader lives in the same conditions as the people they lead.
I agree, thank you for your opinion
- i think the current government is horrible, and i think the justice system in this country is truly heinous... and trump is the leader of that justice system0|10|0
Ok why do you think the Justice system is bad. How has it been bad towards people and how is Trump a bad leader sense you referred to him.

- We need to remove the two major parties and put a new party in place
Or how about have no fucking parties at all0|10|0having no parties would basically put the country in the hands of the people and by doing so would more then likely cause a few civil wars. So no
- Well I'm Canadian, and all the trade protectionism lately has been making us do more business with China, which I don't like.
You folks should remember who your Allies are instead of turning inwards and letting the commies win.0|00|0I try to tell Americans that but not all of them will hear. Like they talk about climate change and look how much pollution China manufactures alone
- Lol it didn't need a change but the fraudulent election seems to do it anyway0|10|0
I don't know who you guys support and idc bothe politicians are terrible and just want pile on rules and regulations rather then removing the 60s-80s introduction of mass incarceration through strict laws.
- As an outsider I see it as being in perpetual gridlock due to partisanship. But a wise man (I think it was Churchill) said people get the government they deserve.0|10|0
