I would say our government is very good at representing our beliefs. So the more we distrust our government the more our elected leaders follow through. So we love being correct then putting any amount of effort into being happy and making a better life.

What do you mean by "trust" A government is just a territorial monopoly on force. In other words a criminal gang. They are just the Mafia with a flag. They don't claim to be any different. Do i trust a criminal gang to commit crimes? Well yes, that's kinda why they are a criminal gang.

Have I developed the Stockholm syndrome that most people have where you think that their crimes are somehow legitimate? No I haven't

I domt trust our government (uk). Don't really trust any. I think sometimes good people do try to go in to change things but end up corrupt or pushed out for not conforming to the corruption.

Solid logic. I accept the government isn't always entirely honest and there's more than one dodgy politician. But people who keep banging on about how they don't trust the government are always up to something.
