Is it okay to pray for a specific person to be my boyfriend? Have you ever tried it? I know that love is a given gift but is it possible to build spiritual intimacy by praying before relationship?
The short answer is yes, you can definitely pray to be in a relationship with someone. However, there's a bit more to it than just sending a request upstairs. It's important to consider a few things:
Intentions Matter: When you're praying for a relationship, it's good to check in with your intentions. Are you seeking companionship, love, support, growth? Understanding your own heart can be as important as the prayer itself.
Openness to Outcomes: Sometimes, the answer to a prayer might not be a straightforward 'yes' or 'no'. It could be a 'not right now' or 'not this person, but someone better'.
Self-Reflection and Growth: Prayer is often a time for reflection. Are there things you need to work on personally? Sometimes the journey to a relationship starts with internal growth.
Action is Key: While praying is powerful, it's also important to take action. You can't just pray and then sit back waiting for someone to knock on your door (wouldn't that be something, though?).
Respecting Free Will: This is a big one. Praying to be in a relationship with a specific person can be tricky because it involves another person's free will. It's generally healthier and more considerate to focus on praying for the right person to come into your life, rather than zeroing in on one specific individual.
So, while you can definitely pray to be in a relationship, the journey might also involve personal growth, self-discovery, and sometimes, a bit of patience and trust in the timing of things.

God is sovereign and can choose to answer any prayer He sees fit. But Scripture clearly indicates that God does not listen to or answer every prayer. In fact, Scripture gives at least fifteen reasons for unanswered prayer. God does not answer the prayer of those:
1) Who have personal and selfish motives.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures (James 4:3).2) Who regard iniquity in their hearts.
If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear (Psalm 66:18).
3) Who remain in sin.But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear (Isaiah 59:2). Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him (John 9:31).
5) Who forsake God.
Thus says the Lord to this people: "Thus they have loved to wander; They have not restrained their feet. Therefore the Lord does not accept them; He will remember their iniquity now, And punish their sins." Then the Lord said to me, "Do not pray for this people, for their good. When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence (Jeremiah 14:10-12).
6) Who reject God's call.
Because I [Wisdom] have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded, Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke... Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me (Proverbs 1:24-25, 28).
7) Who will not heed God's law.
One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination (Proverbs 28:9). "But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear. Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the Lord of hosts. Therefore it happened, that just as He proclaimed and they would not hear, so they called out and I would not listen," says the Lord of hosts. (Zechariah 7:11-13).
If you are not a Christian God will probably not hear your prayers.
Nah. Don’t do it. I would love to be in a relationship with the man I’m currently interested in…but he’s my supervisor. 🤣 Anyway, that’s not how prayer works. You can pray for that person, but you can’t pray to be with that person, if that makes sense. If the feelings are mutual, allow him to freely choose you. 😊

You might end up with someone who’s not trueNever gonna pray for him
Never gonna make him mine
Never gonna ask for a sign, or a miracle divine
Never gonna cast a spell
Never gonna cross the line
Never gonna be so blind, or so desperate and unkindYou’re still hoping that he’ll notice you
You’re tempted to pray for him every night
You’re still dreaming that he’ll feel the same way too
You think it’s harmless, but it’s not rightYou can’t change someone’s heart with a prayer

You’re finally realizing that it’s wrong
You’re ready to move on and find someone else
You’re finally accepting that he’s gone
You’re happy to pray for yourself and your healthNow you know it’s a better thing to do You can trust that God has a plan for you

If you truly understood who we are and what we are all about you would understand that we all have certain powers we are one with the universe everything works together hand in hand it does not matter where you are once the words leave your mouth it's going everywhere
Yes you can pray you can ask you can demand it's your given right on this planet to get anything and everything that you want if you do it in the right manner
I remember you're talking about another person so they have to be a part of the same thing that you are and wanting the same thing you want in order for it to happen

Before religious nutters get involved , the " bible belt " ,
You can pray for whatever you like , its a free country , and dont let anyone tell you otherwise , what your prayer may achieve is giving you an independent focus on which way to head.
Yes, of course you can. But be mindful that if a guy does come into your life that he shares the same religious beliefs as you do.
That's where I went wrong. Many many years ago when I prayed for a man iny life, the problem was he wasn't spiritual at all and I broke it off with him.Humans have free will, and thus do not have to fall in love with you. Sure you could pray to have Leonardo DiCaprio marry you, but there's a million other women praying the same thing. If you're 34, you're running out the clock on who your choices are. He typically goes for 25< year old women.
You can, I have done it and even got the prayer answered in the form of the song "I know you're tired of loving, of loving with nobody to love".
So they do listen if you pray, they might comfort you but it won't get you the person. Free will stands in between that, you will have to find a different way to approach.
i say, not to pray to be in a relationship with someone, because the principle of choice, that person who you want , can choose, not limited by god. according to this principle such a prayer would be wrong. and spirit strength seems good to prayer but in general as above.
I wouldn’t see any point in praying but then I’m an atheist. For the reasons people pray I’d say asking for a relationship is as good as any BUT wouldn’t it just be a whole lot more worthwhile in giving it a shot? As an aside , be careful what you wish for you can think and dream that a relationship with a person would be ideal but the reality could well be far from it
“The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He pleases.”
Proverbs 21:1 NASB2020
I don’t see why not. If God turns the hearts of kings as he sees fit I’m sure he does with lesser men so long as the prayer be according to his will.My dad told me he prayed for someone and so was mom. Then they met each other. They dated on and off, and finally got married and had me.
I struggle with this because of what the Bible says.
1 Corinthians 7:27
27 Are you pledged to a woman? Do not seek to be released. Are you free from such a commitment? Do not look for a wife.
Yet I'm online trying to talk to women? Sure I would love it, if I could find love.
I have never prayed for someone to be my boyfriend… But if you feel like doing it, try that. I just feel like actually getting into the action and asking out that certain guy, might help much more than a prayer…
God has better things to do than find you a mate. God knows a boyfriend/girlfriend isn't going to fix whatever your currently dealing with. Besides even if God did send you someone you'd reject them because they're not going to be your ideal choice.
I wouldn't pray for a specific person to be your boyfriend because God may have someone else in mind for you. I would just pray that God sends you someone good for you and that will love you with all their heart and soul.
You can pray. But if you don't put in the effort to actually make him yours, you'll be left empty handed. I am telling you this right now. Don't pray and keave it at that.
I'm more a fan of the theory that we are masters of our seas. So I don't pray. I cast spells and create charms :)
You xan pray for ANYTHING. God or evil. It is up to God if he will accept your prayer. And if you had evil intentions or sometbing out of envy or jealousy, it is upto God to decide how he would loke to deal with you.
It’s ok. If God wants you guys to be together They will grant your prayer.
You certainly can, but be sure and let us know how it works out for you!
You can waste your time praying for any damn thing you want but it's not gonna help you get it.
You can pray but if misery is to be yours, you can't escape it.
Prayers can change a person's fate. So, it doesn't hurt to pray for something or someone
my brother is doing it right now he wants a girl named Rachel
