In basic training we had to have a nightwatch in the barracks. Just in case of fire or some other emergency. We took turns doing it. When it was my turn I took the late watch. I relieved the early watch guy at 1AM. Before I went to sleep I told him to just shine the flashlight in , my face to wake me up. I told him not to shake me. So this kid decides to shake me and i sometimes come out of a sound sleep thinking I am being attacked. attacked. He shakes me and I come up swinging. I hit him on the side of the head and grab him and toss him into the next bunk. Soon everyone in the barracks was awake.. It is funnny now but not when it happened.
