It also suggests he wasn't some weak little bitch. According to an ancient source on the roman art of war, the romans only picked the tallest and strongest men to serve in the army. So Jesus was likely a tall mesomorph. No one is accusing a nerd of being the son of a jock.

The colour of Jesus was not mentioned literaly in the Gospels. We know that even the Queen of Saba wasn't mentioned as a black woman in the bible. In those times colour was not important. The only verse mentioning the Son of David is:

"My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand."

This says Shulamith to Salomon, the Son of David. And Jesus also was called "Son of David" so it applies to him too.
