Why do Christians worship the cross or worship through cross?

I mean it's literally where jesus (who they perceive to be God) was nailed to death. I have seen many cross where sometimes they even have dead man bowing down while being hanged... Shouldn't this be opposite to being holy?

No- but that's a good question! The whole point of Christianity is that it marked a great diversion, not just from other monotheistic faiths, but from religions in general. For almost the first time, it wasn't just about flattering the ego of a perpetually-enraged godhead, but the veneration of one who was finally willing to put some skin in the game and take on human experience Himself. That's why Easter is a bigger holiday (in religious sense; obviously not a commercial one) than Christmas: a god showing up on Earth is impressive, but one showing up in person AS a person, to go through all we go through, specifically to prove to us that He cares? Sadly, it didn't last; Christianity went from being a Jewish apocalypse cult to a tool of Roman social order depressingly quickly, and then to a source of brutal ideological conformity, insisting that humanity was inherently morally flawed, and God calls for worship in exactly the way Jesus didn't- that evil is only avoided on Earth so that it can be indulged in in Heaven.

@strateguy632 literally every verse in the Qur'an starts 'bismillah arrahman arraheem' translating to 'In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful'. The book is itself a mercy to save mankind from hell fire.

We do not worship the cross itself it is more of a symbol to represent Jesus himself. Jesus was killed on the cross as a final sacrifice for everyone. Before him the people use to sacrifice lambs and other animals as a scapegoat to take their sins. But Jesus being the son of God with no sins died for us as the sacrifice instead and now we no longer did something to take us sins because he took it all. The lambs were only temporary he is not because we believe he was raised from the dead and went back to God to be our advocate for us for taking it all for us.

Him being nailed on the cross is why we can go to heaven cause its known nobody was worthy to go to heaven after we were corrupted by sin, we were all destined for hell until Jesus died on the cross to pay the dept of sin for us, it's why we can repent and be forgiven.
