This goes really long actually but I'll try to summarise.
The most that affects a person's peace of mind is not enough self love and toxic people.
As in, if we don't really value ourselves and love ourselves, we easily get into the depressing and dull state of mind. We start feeling that there's nothing good about us and drag ourselves further down into the dark. So, first and foremost it's important we begin to love ourselves. It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of us. We should be lovable, beautiful and valuable in our own eyes.
Then the people surrounding is shouldn't be negative. Toxic people suck the positivity outta you and drain you. It's best to avoid them and if not, at least don't think about what they do or say to you.

Putting logic over emotions. I may love the idea of something, but that doesn’t mean it’s good for me or will receive what I personally want from it. I will let go of things that don’t favor those two things
I often go with the flow of things, I don't overthink things also it helps when I just sit and think about absolutely nothing it's quite serene when you just empty your mind and just don't think at all about anything.

You have your hobbies, your faith, your work and your responsibilities.
If you are lacking "peace of mind" it's because you are being dishonest in one.
I protect my peace of mind by not overthinking things!
partly trust in god and partly by planning, also music helps.
I don’t deal/tolerate/interact with fools.
And I like to give myself tons of me-times.I keep it in a locked box under the bed.
