+1 yI know there isn't one, because nervous systems exist, and because when they get damaged, the mind starts to crumble, thus the mind is not a soul, its nerves/brains, because if it was a soul, then no bodily damage could ever degrade cognative functions, we would all be genuises even while clinically braindead, and dementia, retardation, etc would be impossible.
Also because no one sees ghosts, despite the dead outnumbering the living by a number so high that it won't fit on this reply. So if souls existed, and you could prove it, they would be literally clogging our line of sight 24/7 like a thick swarm. billions of years worth of every dead individual of every species to ever exist on earth wouldn't even fit on this planet. Even if you reduced it to just homo sapiens, there still isn't enough room for the souls of all the dead people without massive overlapping do to being intangible, so the idea that you can discover ghosts, but almost no one sees them, is completely absurd.11 Reply- +1 y
There is also that most organisms people see are multicellular, and life (thinking objects) started as single celled organisms, so if souls existed, every cell in your body would have its own soul.

Nope.
I trust after death it's the same as before I was born.

Let's just say it is not my place to hold/support any specific belief about that.
No matter what I think or what I am inclined to believe about this matter, doesn't matter.11 Reply
+1 yYeah. It can be heaven, reincarnation (become a new person), or turn into a ghost. I don't really care which one as long as I'm happy and it's purely my choice.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yIt's sad that in 2024, people who are saying nope they do not believe in the after life yet so many scholars and books give concrete evidence of past, present and future observations and scriptures about life which makes the after life real. This is why people act racist, steal, murder, rape, sell for sex, there are girls who are like 3/10 and call themselves goddesses where guys and men should bow to her I mean how pathetic. Look at life as someone in the court room awaiting a trial and the judge comes in, hears the verdict and makes a decision. God knows and sees all. I mean look at Israel, Netanyahu and his zionist thugs have killed over 30,000 Palestinians, majority of them are women and children.
For someone like Netanyahu who has committed such heinous crimes, die and nothing happens to him? No punishment? No, God will punish these tyrannical, unlawful, ignorant people. I'm not going to sit here and convince people who are non-believers because you can't present the truth to someone who does not see it. It's like trying to show a presentation but they have a blind fold on around their eyes, they have to take it off and really hear the words of God to impact their heart, then they'll understand. Until then, people will drink, curse online, be all willy nilly having sex with random people, and etc. thats not life, those are animalistic tendencies, God didn't create the human being to be an animal, that's the difference.

+1 yNot in the usual way.
I think that you live on in the memories of those who loved you. Your family, your friends, your progeny. Once that memory is gone there is no more trace of you.
But... Also I think that you influence everyone you come in contact with in some way. So if you talk to someone, even a stranger, even for a second... you influence them.
Then they influence other people which is affected by the way you influenced them. So that other person has a tiny piece of your influence... then they influence others. and on and on and on FOREVER.
So that part of you lives forever.

+1 yIt is likely one of the following:
- Oblivion: lights out, you cease to exist. Sucks!
- Haunting: you are a ghost tethered to where you died. Sucks!
- Afterlife: you go to another reality with all the other dead people. Could be cool, could suck.
- Reincarnation: meaningless woo woo bullshit, if you lose your memories it doesn't mean anything.
- New Game+: you start over from the moment of your birth but keep your memories, knowledge, and skills. Awesome!
20 ReplyI think it's fascinating how a very high percentage of near death experiences all pretty much say the same thing. People from different cultures all over the planet, what are the odds of that, tell me that's coincidenctal.
Another interesting avenue on this is a guy (Dr Melvin Morse) who specialized for years in studying near death experiences of children. It's one thing to have an adult tell you something, where you may not exactly trust their credibility, but to hear a young children tell their experiences I think is a different thing. This doctor describes how it absolutely floored him to have a 4 or 5 year old take his hand and tell him things like "You don't need to be scared" or "I met the sun and it smiled at me". Obviously using a kids vocabulary to describe their experience.
But yes a topic I find very intriguing.11 Reply472 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. When I think rationally with amount of knowledge we have today, the answer is no.
On the other hand we don't know much. There is a photon experiment where the particle/weave behavior of photon differs if the photon is observed or not. Of course our scientists don't know why being aware of something changes it fundamental behavior.
I don't want create a new religion and believe in some omnipotent beings just in terms of some fascinating experiment. However, it shows us just our unknowledge about thing that happen in our universe and reality that surrounds us. Our will, drive to survive and awareness seems to be some unknown kind of energy if its presence changes behavior of photons. Energy doesn't get lost in this universe, it just transforms.00 Reply342 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. Absolutely. The Bible speaks about it. As a Christian I look forward to seeing it again - just not too soon!

Which scripture verse?

The one written by goat herders in the desert 5,000 years ago after compiling oral traditions from various places.

Basically every New Testament book mentions it, but most specifically Jesus Himself as recorded by John in chapters 14-16 if his Gospel and all of Revelation.
The bits written by eye witnesses to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, called The Christ, within 25 years of the events they describe. As they agree on the most significant parts of the story of Jesus's life a modern court would accept their testimony as factual.
Outside the 66 books of the Bible and the 63,779 cross-references it contains despite the 35-40 writers not having access to all the other documents contained in the modern collection, writers including Josephus, Pliny the Younger, and Suetonius all record not only what had happened, but how the church in the First Century AD behaved in their meetings and in public. - +1 y
One question: Which of them was there to record Jesus words when talking to dad in the garden of gethdamane? Asking for a friend... 🙄
- +1 y
Your speculating. Where's the objective facts?
- +1 y
So the Bible is COMPLETELY factual? Just that part?
I don't know but not knowing is what makes death scary

Why should I fear death?
If I am, then death is not.
If Death is, then I am not.
Why should I fear that which can only exist when I do not?

People like you are the reason why this world is a worse place to live in, don't be the piece of shit that makes this world a better into a worse place, stop trolling and get off the internet, if you have a problem with other religions then don't go around telling others what to believe, you're a grown man and you should know better. grow up.

@ManlyMan111 I'm compelled to speak the truth. Religion is a cancer on humanity. My problem is the division and violence over a concept that doesn't exist by all objective evidence. I only believe in one less God than you!! Look at baysean probability. It's almost an impossiblity at this point. Why doesn't an omnipotent and omniscient diety not end this charade? You theists are not serious people

For those that say there is no evidence. Look around you. Do you believe everything on Earth evolved from some microbe from a space rock or from a comet? Did you ever notice that when either hits a planet there are huge explosions that would kill ALL life within that comet or asteroid. Life is too diverse to be by chance. Also, nature says that a horse has little horses, not some other form of life. We would all still be microbes if that is how life started on Earth. Frankly, it takes more faith to believe in that then to believe everything had a designer, as we are too complex for "chance".

Funnily majority of scripture thumpers are just as ignorant as atheists because they do not develop spiritually. Most of us've got consciousness as stuck in the physicsl bodies as animals.

Life evolved by chance. They've replicated conditions in a lab setting already.
