Wow. That is a huge deal, girl. I am so sorry that you are facing this loss. Losing your religion is like losing your identity or a family member. It is like death. You know it can never be the same, and that is tragic. It is OK to grieve for it and weep for it.

I would encourage you to first find a way to get stable and process through all that you have been through. You need rest, stability, support, and help to work through all that you will need to process. It sounds like your country is becoming more restrictive and it will likely only get worse. I would try and find a way to get out soon. It doesn't have to be the US. Perhaps you have family you can go visit in another country?

Have you asked your Christian friends about this? Often they have connections and may be able to help get you a sponsor.

Personally, I am a Christian, but I would caution you to be careful about getting involved in another faith right away. You are very vulnerable right now, and you just need to breathe and rest from the oppression of religion that you have experienced. You need people to wrap their arms around you, love you and comfort you, not give you conditional acceptance based on religious affiliation.

Religion is for sheep. You don't need religion to be a moral person. That just comes from living, experiencing emotions, and learning empathy.

Look at ancient religions. Nordic mythology used be a religion that a whole civilization believed in and how it's used for entertainment in movies like Thor. Same with Greek mythology and Zeus. And the concept of Valhalla that the Vikings used to believe in. Same thing with ancient Egyptian gods like the Sun God Ra. It's all entertainment and history now.

If you put a child into the wilderness or in a society that does not have a religion, they won't suddenly believe in Islam or Christianity or Hinduism or anything for that matter. Does that make them a sinful person? Fuck no.

I'll say it again... religion is for sheep.

Ataturk tried to make Turkey secular, but the current government ruined it. Secularism only exists in words, it does not actually exist in here lol.
A few days ago, our President removed the subject of secularism from history class and added more hours of religion lessons instead. ahaha note: religion lesson (Islam) Religion lesson where other religions are talked about badly

This is one of the simplest examples. If I give an example for myself, my grandmother always tells me that I should wear a hijab, and that men are superior to us and that we have to do whatever they say because this is an order of religion. I'm not one of those weird feminist types, I'm not saying we don't need men, but here in Turkey, we are really being pressured by religion.
