you know what's kind of crazy? those egyptian drawings that clearly spell out a race from the sky. is it religion? who knows? no one has ever been able to talk about it because the stories are gone. how are they gone? who created speech? certainly we had drawings before speech, but it was good enough to have a story passed down about it right? but there is nothing but cave drawings and weird monuments that serve a purpose that's unknown. because it is not passed down.

i wouldn't believe any of the religion of today. it doesn't make sense. if something doesn't make sense or add up, then you're advised to believe in FAITH.

sure parents have influence but that does not prove my parents are true because each parent said a different one! so that can't be a proof.

@OddBeMe The existence of God aside, do you not recognize that much of the moral code and societal norms that westerners live by and assume is imbedded in our brains is actually from the culture established by the Catholic Church dating back to ~200 AD.

Do you not recognize the advancements that took place in society because of religion, specifically Christianity assuming you live in the West. Christian virtues became united in law under Constantine the Great, education was expanded and as time went on the clergy established universities and literally became the moral guide of society in most of Europe for nearly 2 thousand years.

Do you not at a minimum recognize that? Or are you a person who ignores history and thinks we came to this moral validity on our own even though we still see many non Western cultures act in ways we think is backwards or savage.

i think "true" or "untrue" is not the right category. i would say "agree with most" would be better to ask cause most things most religions say are objectively untrue (mostly cause that's the nature of fiction). it's just about the moral value judgements that you may or may not agree with. personally i agree with taoism the most but i don't know every religion that there is.
