"Yes, I find it completely nonsensical when someone refers to the Christian god as a good and just god.
In the Old Testament he creates a species with very particular care, so much so that he designs them in his own image. He punishes them and all of their offspring, including us, to live on a hostile planet full of misery, death, disease, famine and decay, all for the crime of rebellion. What rebellion? For exercising the free will he “gifted” us, by eating an piece of fruit from the tree of knowledge. How dare we? Showing a great insecurity, feeling his authority and power threatened he destroys paradise and convinces his followers that it was an act of justice and puts the blame onto his own creation for an offense.
He floods the entire world for crimes that are not even specified, save for one family.
He commands a father to sacrifice his son to prove that he loves god more than his own child and to show his fear of the ultimate power in the universe.
In the New Testament, he apparently could think of nothing better to save humanity from the original sin which he gifted us in the first place, than by having a man, some say himself, others say his son, to be tortured on cross and become a human scapegoat for all of humanity. The vicarious redemption would strip away the sins of the sinful, without consulting the victims of the crimes in the first place. Rapists would be not be found guilty, without God asking the opinion of the woman that was the object of the painful and traumatic event. Jesus and God consider themselves to be the ultimate victims of these human crimes and don’t take into consideration the real ones. And finally he creates an afterlife, split in two, one for the righteous, where they can spend an eternity praising the dear leader, and one where those not offered salvation, those who don’t believe, are condemned to an eternity of never ending torture.
Gosh sounds like such a nice guy."
I had to cut a lot of text, too long.
