The descriptions are different. Like "is the one with stripes and the one without the same one." We can't say select the common parts, because of the different parts. Even the same words cannot have the same meaning.

when we say both are "merciful" what does mercy mean in the context of each book and its surrounding details.

Yes I think they are the same expressions of human fear of death, and the inmate human ability to feel supernatural agency. They just are spiderman with slightly different origin stories. Like Toby Maguire Spider-Man verses Tom Holland. Essentially the same story with similar but slightly different super powers.

A rabbi used your reasoning. "Muslims christians and us all worship the god of moses, our god has agreeing support, but Christian god and muslim god are rejected by each other".
Similarly he wrote "our book is good according to all 3 but each Christian and muslim book is rejected by each other" the flaw in his logic is muslims and Christians do not "obey" rabbi calendar of biblical festivals. So lack agreement.

It's a meaningless question. Since they exist only in the minds of their believers, there are as many different versions as there are believers. There are thousands of sects of Christianity, and dozens of sects of Islam, each with slightly different beliefs.
