NOTE: I did not choose the MHO for this question.

A beautiful religion of peace and love and unity. A more thorough understanding of oneness than any other creed that I know of. A sacred text that is simply poetic and if I believed in a God might actually think was divinely inspired. A faith that is grounded in meaningful rituals and the centrality of having a direct relationship with their deity.

Now of course I'm going to hear the usual bellowing about Muhammad is a pedophile, it's a religion of misogyny, they practice genital mutilation, they're all a bunch of terrorists, blah blah blah. I would no more judge some of the things in the Quran than I would in the Torah or the Bible. All of those holy texts are full of depravity and a morality.

[lightbulb27]

starts off with some good ideas and aims to repair the broken heart of the arab peoples... goes down hill into human depravity quickly. clearly as P. Mohammed said... he is not God, he was a messanger and a human being... a fragile one like all of us.

He saw the goodness of Jesus, I suggest others look there as well.

Some good adherents, most are silent and don't do anything to stop the radicals zealots among them. So until they do and put a boot on their necks and reign in their behaviors, I will have a very negative view on them.

[Levin]

Antithetical to Western values.

misogynistic, homophobic, patriarchical, yada yada. Lefties don't seem to mind, though.

[strateguy632]

Leftiies say "i am so sure quran is not hhomophob nor violent , that i don't need to check" sso they won't check.

[DrPepper12]

So just like Christianity, Judaism, etc? C'mon @Levin.

I've read the Qu'ran several times. It's drenched in blood and depravity!! It's just like the Torah & Bible.

[strateguy632]

Islam needs a reformation like we Christians had

d excluding n purifying some books in traditional bible. Same for islam.

[LiamJHayden]

The Muslims I know in real life are about as far from the Jihadist lunatics we hear about as Barry Manilow is from being an icon of Heavy Metal.

[DrPepper12]

Same. The ones ik hate extremists more than Christians hate KKK as a "Christian" organization

[genericname85]

just another version of the popular delusional "all powerful god" ideology with no evicence for any of the truth claims around tha god. like most other deistic religions.

[TheStaleMarshmellow]

Do any of the muslim countries have 1st world standards? Something is obviously wrong

[DrPepper12]

1st world as capitalist? Yes. Most.

[Dargil]

It is the religion of death.

[DrPepper12]

Strictly speaking that's the issue all religions have sought to address... 😂🤔🤷😉

[Kelly6]

They are okay to me

[Anonymous]

Should be eliminated.

[DrPepper12]
